Killing time between flight arrivals at Los Cabos airport - what to do?

I have family flying in to the Los Cabos airport on 3 different flights. Longest wait time between flight arrivals is a good hour.

For those of you who know the area.....is there a place nearby where we can go to kill some time instead of just sitting around the airport? Maybe a lounge/restaurant at that hotel that's nearby - I think it's a Best Western? or anything in that little town up the road from the airport going towards Los Barriles?

Watch for a small taco place near the car rental area just before actually turning into the airport. You can get a beer and a snack and watch the world go by.

There is a small town called Santa Anita about 5 minutes past the PEMEX just outside of the airport. There might be something there as the buses stop there.

You could also take the toll road into San Jose Del Cabo. There are a number of stores and restaurants near the traffic circle that connects Mex. 1 to the toll road. This would take about 15-20 minutes each way. The toll is 31 pesos each time you go through.

After you exit the terminal, the is a fairly large (and lively) bar. It is right in front of where the car rental shuttles pick up.

From the airport toward Barilles, on the right as you go up the hill,
very close to airport,a little above highway.
Toro Guerro has a nice location looking over the San Jose estuary.
Check it out on trip advisor.

Airport at hotel is o.k., lounge is a little small but would work.

La Palapa, on the right just before you enter the airport, past all the rental car places. You have to get off the road and go along the frontage road...you may miss it the first time.
Killer fish tacos, cold beer...que mas quire?

Actually El Toro Guero is between San Jose and the airport not on the way to Los Barriles and several miles from the estuary. It is excellent but with only an hour to kill, I would go to La Palapa.

Thanks very much, everyone, for your fast replies! Lots of good suggestions there. I think one of the taco stands close to the airport is what the gang will probably vote for. Good to know there are places where you can go to kill some time. I was just dreading having to wait it out in one of the terminals. The new terminal has nowhere to hang out and wait and the options at the old terminal are pretty dismal.

U could do what I did last Thanksgiving. Sit in the arrivals section and turn next to the guy that you heard speaking to a fellow on his right, "No I have a vineyard, in Oregon". And myself being from Oregon, I say, "it isn't Kings Estates by any chance is it"? And he replies, "no, I own Hillcrest Vineyard, in Roseburg, Oregon". Yikes!!!!! I'm very familiar with Hillcrest vineyard. Great Wines, AND he recently purchased the old Hanson Chevrolet dealership building downtown to develop for marketing his wines. And I say, I'm from Roseburg too"Turns out, he knows my son Paul, who couple years ago started with two other fellows, Two Shy Brewing in Roseburg. Next thing I know, it's like old home week, and he opens up one of his "fish coolers" and digs out a bottle of one of his wines, and gives it to me. Wow. How can I top that???? So I say, " Well, that entitles you to a free 'growler' of Two Shy Brewing, next time you go to town". And this is a young up coming micro brewery that has been taking honors at competitions in Oregon. One of it's favorites is Influence IPA. Another is Reformation Red, and Phatt Odd Stout and another couple. They have a great Facebook page. (ooops-free commercial. Sorry. Can't find it on the shelves yet. Only in growlers at their shop two days a week.) Now that is fine entertainment for waiting around the S.J.D.C. airport for MY relatives to arrive. Try it sometime. Be friendly, and you'll be amazed how small this world really is. Enjoy your visit to Baja. Viva la Baja

One of our preferred options...pack a sandwich and snacks and hang out at the airport. We pack a lunch when we fly, too. :yes:

I'm looking at a flight that arrives 7 PM... a close hotel would be cool.

The Best Western is as close as you can get. It's on the road between Terminal 1 an Terminal 2. Just walk.

Has a very nice restaurant, nice lounge, and good rooms. About $80 USD.

Our favorite place is Mariscos Evaristo ---- out of airport, over the bridge & head North towards Los Barriles. Go under the bridge & turn left at first dirt road(west) across from the 1st Pemex.It is a white building, just off the hiway. You turn just befofe were the new divided hiway starts. Next to tiger club.
If I'm dropping somebody off we go early, check in & then go eat. Then you just drop them off just before boarding time. 5 min. away ! :coolup:
