One of the breeds of dogs we used to have were Malamutes.

They had a doggie door that allowed them to go outside anytime they wanted.
So, during snow storms, they always managed to go outside and instead of sleeping in their dog houses, they always slept on a snow pile as the falling snow came down.
The next morning, there was this pile of snow that moved all of a sudden, and the dogs appeared from under snow, shook off the fresh snow and came inside for their breakfast.
