By ghosts from the past.
I have a PC, not a Mac. I only use Firefox as a browser and Yahoo for my email and my internet access is hard-wired Telnor high speed.
A few minutes after I booted up this morning, my computer called out on the speakers, BONG! "You Have Mail!"
Huh?
I wasn't logged into anything - just had the home page up.

Mine is doing strange things too. Yahoo has redesigned their format effective 1/31/14, and who knows what THAT will mean.
That's my guess, anyway.

Gypsy Jan, as you probably know, Yahoo Mail was recently hacked 'again' for addresses, etc....they recommend that you change your password frequently
and/or have an alternate email address.
Oh F. That Means I Have to Remember Another Group of Passwords

I think I will spend some more time on chess online - cognitive therapy.

Gypsy Jan -
Get Lastpass. It's free, and you only need to remember one password, the main one for the main Lastpass login. Makes life a LOT easier and it will
auto generate passwords for you that are difficult to hack.
Glary Utilities is also another great program to make computer maintenance MUCH easier.
