Dog Stories, Pt. I

So we have two one-year-old Rotties, brother and sister, the puppies who were handed off to my husband on the sidewalk outside the vet's.

They now weigh about sixty pounds each and get excited at two in the afternoon because dinner time is 3:30 pm.

They start wrestling and playing under my desk in the kitchen, rolling my chair away and generally disrupting what I am working on.

Then they quit, panting, and look at me, "Don't forget our dinner, please."

We have a parrot who is almost the same way...daylight savings time or not. Animals know what time it is.

And we have a dog who has never, from day 1, been crazy about eating. He is an English Springer Spaniel and is now 7 years old. Dog biscuits, waste of money. Pieces of steak? Chicken ? Different kinds of dogfood? Nothing entices him. He will eat but I usually have to give him the angry Mom look and many a time have I sat there til he ate it all. Skinny on my watch......not gonna happen.

To me, this is the oddest behaviour ever.
