The Russian Ex-Mig Pilot in Baja

Gypsy Jan - 2-20-2014 at 02:09 PM

We knew him and his wife. They lived near La Salina.

He was a bodyguard for...

She came home from from work and found a wrapped present on her steps with colorful balloons attached.

She died because it was a bomb..

That's a bit cryptic, Jan. Could you enlighten the rest of us about the incident? Is it current?

apple - 2-20-2014 at 03:16 PM

I can't believe I still open these threads

There is a Reason for My Being Intentionally Cryptic

Gypsy Jan - 2-20-2014 at 03:19 PM

Because the grandmother who is raising the child and the child are very vulnerable.

bajaguy - 2-20-2014 at 03:40 PM

What is this? Some sort of tease, you know something the rest of us don't, what is
the purpose of posting this 1/2 thread if you want
to keep details from getting out?

DavidE - 2-20-2014 at 03:56 PM

It is so cryptic it worked perfectly - I can assure you.

The only Russian Mig pilot's name I am familiar with is Viktor Belenko.

willardguy - 2-20-2014 at 04:08 PM

is this from a bernie swaim book?

El Comadante Loco - 2-20-2014 at 04:11 PM

Sorry but if this can not be verified then it is indicative of a
delusional thought process or someone with nothing better to do.

I know Baja is not prefect and like most parts of the world including the US has plenty of problems. Baja has plenty of negative press and does not need post like Gypsy Jan's especially undocumented ones.....

chuckie - 2-20-2014 at 05:09 PM

GEEZ...From the person who specializes in negatives....

BajaBlanca - 2-20-2014 at 06:34 PM

It is a very sad story, no matter when it happened. Life sure ain't always fair. Sorry to hear this gypsy.

Dear DavidE - Bingo!

Gypsy Jan - 2-20-2014 at 06:53 PM

That is all.

Two Wives????

bajaguy - 2-20-2014 at 07:57 PM

From:

http://www.armchairgeneral.com/author-pov-viktor-belenko-her...

Viktor Belenko’s wife, Lyudmila, I found an interview made to her by the Russian newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda” on 09-26-2006. She today works as manager of a children’s nursery in the Kuban Region of Russia. Neither her nor Dmitry (their son) ever got in touch again with Viktor after his defection. He did get married to an American music teacher, with whom he had 2 children, but later the couple divorced.

He had married a blond school teacher and later designed and built their home in Montana near Billings. My wife, son, and I were their guests at their high-rise apt. in Long Beach when he was working for about six months at Northrop.

Belenko was not married in Russia. He had a woman with a boy. Writer Barron wrote ‘Mig Pilot’ and he ‘converted’ that woman into Belenko’s wife. It was done for the emotional appeal for potential readers. Some of Belenko’s relatives moved to Canada.

He was not really close to his wife and son. They were elite Muscovites and Vik told me she was constantly harping and b-tching about having to live outside of Moscow at a poorly constructed air base. He knew that with her connections they would be OK. He just knew that he wanted out of an oppressive system that had been lying to its people to keep them under control.

-really- you're concerned about 'the vulnerable',,,but then it becomes a -bingo- game when someone names names,,,

,,,rather bizarre

...I'll make sure to not share any 'vulnerable' information whichU:P
