Hola, As its raining here (centrail CA.)Whoopy !! for the first time in like forever !! I thought I'd share this...Today on KSBW 8 is a news story about the police chief and ex chief and five (5) other officers (used loosely) were arrested yesterday for stealing and embezament from the Hispanic residents of King city CA. Sad state of affairs !! as I say to folks in the USA..."I much rather get pulled over by a cop in mexico (Baja) than calif any day of the week !!!...and I get asked all the time..are you not scared going down to mexico ???? "" YES,, I have to drive thru LA and san diago to get there !!"""

When I lived in Denver in the 60s the caught two cops with a stolen safe in the trunk of their patrol car. Police crime was rapent and (as I remember) about 20 cops lost their jobs and ended up in prison.

Make that 50 cops

Former Denver policeman Art Winstanley points to squad-car partner Jack Snodgrass, back to the camera, in 1961. Winstanley had begun serving time when he testified against fellow cops in the scandal.

Months after Art Winstanley hammered out a cathartic, self-published account of his descent into crime, scandal, alcoholism and prison, the venture still finds him hundreds of dollars in the hole.

But the writing process, spread over three years and nearly 300 pages, had one definite payoff: It helped him reconcile a troubled past and his place in local history.

In 1960, Winstanley became the first domino to fall in what stood then as the biggest and most public case of police corruption in the nation.

More than 50 area law enforcement figures — nearly all of them Denver police officers — were swept up in a burglary ring in which cops cracked safes and made off with an estimated $250,000 from more than 200 heists involving businesses on their beats. More than 40 did time. The ring operated for at least a decade, insulated by police prerogative and a code of silence.

Then, as Winstanley sped away from a job one night, a safe literally fell out of his car trunk and into the path of a police cruiser. That began his half-century struggle to come to grips with his slice of infamy and the damage he inflicted on his family, friends and colleagues.

"Even though I made a lot of bad choices, it's a barometer to measure how happy I am today," says Winstanley, 74.

Bad Cops appear to be the Norm Today. I remember when the whole City Police Force in Kansas City Mo. was kicked out and the State Police took Control. For years it was referred to as The Kansas City State Police .
And the latest, the San Diego Ca. police Chief Resigns.
I notice even in my community in Baja a lot of Retired Police APPEAR to carry a sense of Entitlement into their retired life

This is classic premeditated entrapment as a NORMAL SIZE international sign would be the standard.

Hah! Should a local DEMAND all monies derived from an illegal right turn at an intersection with such a sign BE MANDATED to help road maintenance, you would hear an outcry that would reach the outskirts of Culiacan Sinaloa.

Back when I worked narcotics, a pound of Mexican meth could be purchased in LA for around $3500. Take that pound to NYC and deal it off for $25,000. Nice profit for about a weeks work. Makes you wonder.

yep, san diego PD seems to have specialized in hiring cops with a predisposition to sexually assaulting the community! :!:

union adjusted his story, read what the police union told him to say

EL CAJON, Calif. — An El Cajon police officer shot an unarmed bicyclist in the face Friday when the man moved his hands toward his waist as if trying to pull out a weapon, authorities said.

The shooting happened shortly after 10 a.m. in the 1300 block of East Main Street near Walter Way.

The officer observed a bicycle rider make an illegal U-turn in front of the Best Car 4U used car lot, El Cajon police Lt. Tim Henton said. When the officer ordered the rider to stop, the rider looked at him and continued riding away, so the officer got out of his patrol car and chased after the man, Henton said.

The man finally stopped and as the officer approached, he moved his hands to his waist, Henton said. The officer ordered to man to remove his hand, and when he didn’t comply, he shot him, fearing for his life, Henton said.

The man was taken to a local trauma center and was expected to survive, Henton said.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave pending and internal department investigation of the shooting, Henton said.

Full sized sign but you could get a ticket for driving on either side.

After an exhaustive search of less than 24 hours, the mayor elect appoints an insider as new chief of police! An insider who has never worked a day on the outside! The city is doomed to another generation of same old same old!

This is what happens when you elect the GOP mayoral candidate chosen by the back room good old boys.

So do 3-second amber lights. Or no advance warning signs when you are headed toward a signal light intersection where your street becomes ONE WAY against your flow of traffic

Or letting the RED LIGHT RUNNER CAMERA COMPANY (Who reaps a percentage of the ticket loot) set THEIR OWN STANDARDS for determining how long an amber light stays on. They NEVER set the light the same as before the camera was installed. The time of amber "burn" is shorter.

Gimme a freakin' break. Those no right turn signs would be ripped down and sent to the crusher in 99% of California Cities.
