I just drove up from East Cape.
Left yesterday morning, Tuesday.
Got into Phoenix this afternoon.
Road conditions were good.
One new twist:
There was a drug dog at the Loreto northbound checkpoint.
A well-trained dark thin Alsation with a professional handler.
Saw two 18-wheelers, one before and one after Coco's.
The southbound one was being repaired.
The northbound one was inching along.
I drove at night so I could see every washboard ripple, pointy rock, hump and dip in the road in my headlights.
Made the drive much easier; no probs with small Subaru.
Still can't drive on the new 6 miles of road, although I found it to be smooth and very black, with bumpy orange things on it.

At that particular Reten, it appears to be the end of their running out their pet German Shepherd (who wasn't trained to smell anything) and then
watching for people flashing profiles!

I thought they phased out dogs when they purchased all those GT200's?
