Custom Furniture - Rosarito

Ateo - 3-10-2014 at 07:27 PM

Anyone have any experience purchasing custom furniture in Rosarito?

Looking to get a rustic style couch frame made with cushions.

Also looking for a rustic style wooden couch with cushions.

Heading down this week to scout it out.

Familiar with the Artisan Row area or whatever they call it.

Any comments or concerns appreciated.

Fausto Polanco

We had some dining room chairs made by Fausto years ago and are now looking at a custom couch for our oddly shaped living area

We had a vanity and two doors at Casa Rustica at the north end of Artisan Row. Did a nice job good price.

Casa Rustica x 2.

Did an outstanding job for us. We provided a couple of photos and the measurements. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Wow. Great recommendations. I will google them and see if I can find them. Otherwise I'll just write the names down and cruise the strip. Thanks Nomads!

Website has link to Google map.

Also about a mile north of there on the east side, just past the stop sign adjacent to the Ortega's Buffet, is a place called Panchos. Pancho is a great guy and his place is filled with lots of interesting stuff. 20+ years ago he was the first guy in Rosarito that we ran across who was bringing items in from the mainland. He would be gone for weeks at a time and would fly to Oaxaca or wherever and rent a truck and driver and cruise around until he filled the truck and then head back to Rosarito. As mentioned he is really nice and he also makes rustic furniture. Fun shop to browse and great for gifts for the folks back home too. :saint:

Some day when I grow up I want to get a Hacienda with 20 foot ceilings and 30 rooms so I can fill it with some of the mega oversized stuff you see. In the meantime............

The good thing is that just about everyone down that way wants to sell/make/give you exactly what you want, mostly. :saint: I do recall a time when there where not so many choices and that made shopping go quicker which left more time for surf. We have a deal at my casa that shopping days start after the wind blows out the surf or its' flat. :dudette:

YMMV

Just a Couple Blocks South of Fausto Polanco

On Benito Juarez Blvd. there is a custom furniture design place - you can't miss it, there is a giant (25 foot tall) rearing tin horse on the sidewalk.

They have beautiful rustic style furniture.

Great suggestions. I need to furnish my entire house. I will be checking these places out.

I ordered something from Baja Rustica Rosarito and I got completely ripped off! The piece that arrived was broken and peeling. I basically have to throw it away. I ended up losing over 1,000$. I have tried contacting them over and over they just ignore me. I definitely had a bad experience. :fire::fire::fire::fire:

Sorry to hear that. I guess I'll look elsewhere.

Sorry to hear that. We had Rustica do a hutch/wine rack for us. We provided photos of a similar design, and our dimensions and it came out perfect. In fact, they even called us twice for clarification on a couple of points. We will be having them do additional work.

J.P. - 5-14-2014 at 10:58 PM

Most of our furniture is Mexican Rustico some of it I have had for years. A large foot locker type coffee table I picked up in Jarues years ago. we decided we would like to have a miniature like it to place in front of the love seat so I took some pictures and provided the dimensions I wanted, and off we went to Sterling's in Ensenada. They did a Excellent job it looks just like the big one
