Vehicles permitted for Sentri info

brewer - 3-16-2014 at 08:05 PM

On the website I can't find what vehicles are restricted for SENTRI.

Just to see if my truck would be allowed. It's a full size Dodge with a 4 wheel pop up camper. I have torn out the interior. The stove & propane tank, icebox, sink & water tank, and all the cabinets. There still exist the lower storage that turns into a bunk.

I have been told by a few people that my truck would not be allowed because it is not just a simple camper shell.

Anyone know of this or a link to the correct info?

Thanks.

Can anyone verify that the Sentri Card can be used in the Ready Lane?

The Sentri card can be used in any lane. As for your truck, just call the number for a Sentri office, tell them what you have, and ask if it's permitted.

We have a four wheel camper. I was told it is not allowed. We use ready lane when we have it on truck. Your challenge would be that when you pull up to the Sentri booth your rig will look like a four wheel camper from the outside regardless of what you have done inside and that will preclude you from getting approval.

Best of luck. Let us know what they say.

Kevin
My truck has a Callen slide in shell, when I took it in for Sentri inspection I had it empty and all the lower sliding access doors to the wheel wells removed. No other cabinets in the shell. They approved it but told me to keep the amount of stuff I was transporting to a minimum. I think I have only crossed 4 times with it and no problems so far but they do give me a dirty look cause they have to go to the rear end to open the camper door.
Good luck with yours,
Larry

Runs about 60-75 days to get the approval, but the interviews have been pretty close-in: I got a next-day.
