An obvious bad reaction is a medical emergency. Any hospital, any doctor, anywhere. IMHO Mexican doctors are masters at dealing with reactions to
insect punctures.thefishaholic - 3-18-2014 at 04:14 PM

I think he means Blue Net Hospital, on the Caraterra across from Home Depot in Cabo. I've been there as well as Amerimed, wouldn't purposely go back
to Amerimed. I found the doctors and facility at Blue Net to be top notch.gnukid - 3-18-2014 at 07:17 PM
Thank you very much, patient was having a strong reaction and ended up at St Jude and found excellent care. Doctor called me three times to report the
status. Blood test show no reaction to any poisonous venom, likely dehydration, lack of rest and extreme anxiety caused some reaction. Patient is
resting and will return home tomorrow as planned for further observation.Bill Collector - 3-18-2014 at 07:30 PM
Where is St Jude?EnsenadaDr - 3-18-2014 at 07:58 PM
It all depends on the type and the scope of reaction. If the person knows they are allergic to spiders but only have a localized inflammatory
response, they should bring their own Benadryl. If the reaction is a little more severe, and causes generalized itching all over the body you might
want to give IV solumedrol, a steroid that is powerful in decreasing inflammation, If the bite causes life threatening symptoms such as shortness of
breath, then an EPI pen would be in order. However, it would be a smart move for a person to know what category they react and carry the appropriate
medication with them to save money spent in a hospital but more importantly might save their life.

Yep took benedryl and solumedrol IV in response to feeling out of it, shortness of breath, heart racing, some swelling, hives, unable to sleep. Hard
to know what is happening but patient is stable.gnukid - 3-18-2014 at 08:49 PM
Patient has history with sulphite issues, not sure if that is related. Doctor reports positive for Staph.
I don't know the location of the hospital they say it's called St Jude, we decided not to send them to Amerind.

Ah ok so this reaction was something new it appears. It appears the staph infection probably will be causing more of a problem than the spider bite.dtbushpilot - 3-18-2014 at 10:55 PM
I've heard good things about St. Jude's, have had a bad experience with Amerimed.
