In the coldness thread I didn't see anything about cold vs. cold.
I don't know if it's my age difference now but seems like it's always been a different kind of coldness at the beach.
Or I have turned into a wimp!
But, we used to go out in 4 degrees in just a shirt in Jackson Hole and not too much different in Tahoe or the Berkshires.
But the cold here, including the coldest night I have experienced at Laguna Hanson seems to penetrate or something. I imagine and have heard that
humidity is a big factor.
But now that my lame attempt at excuses are over, here's what this is really about.
A couple people posted pictures of their homes in the snow.
I really miss that life although not enough to change what I am doing so;
How about let's trade some pictures. I'll put pics up of the beach and down here, and you guys put pics. up of some mountains and snow stuff?

JR I wish I could post a picture of our snow before it melts. Some how I just don't get it and have major trouble with posting pic. Wanted to post

right about the dampness at the beach. Sat it sure seemed colder down there than here when I left. Even with the temp. 25 deg. warmer there.

But here, as of a few minutes ago, I was very cozy with a crackling fire in the wood stove and a pot of sopa on the range.
However, I-5 was so slick this PM that I 180'd the Sidekick! First time Ive done that in at leaset 10 years. Must be getting old. Kinda fun though

yesterday while coming home from a three day in-law visit to phoenix (P-hoe-nix) the better half and myself found ourselves like two kids in the
proverbial candystore. coming over the lagunas near campo/boulevard, while listening to the chargers do their thing it started to snow. not just a few
flakes, mind you, but enough that we came to a stop at the end of an endless row of taillights. after sitting for 10-15 minutes fearing they may have
closed I-8, we started moving, thank you god, allah, buddha, neptune, etc...someone spun out into the median.
so a few more miles and we pulled off and took a few fotos. i'll try to post them (there is a first time for everything!:?

i think humidity has A LOT to do with the what the temperature feels like. i spent a few winters in chicago and when it would drop to -10 and on down
to -20 degrees with a wind chill of -45 to -50 it would just be DAMN COLD. three, four dogs at least. but the funny thing was you
couldn't really tell the difference between -10 degrees and wind chill -50. it was so dry (relative humidity) that it wouldn't snow below about 15
degrees. but when the temp was between about 35 to 40 and it would rain NOW THAT WAS COLD. that damp, bone chilling, snot freezing to
your face kinda cold that makes people wanna go to baja...

reconsiderin!!!
And the photos coming in from San Diego , who ever woulda thunk!! I was expecting replies from Minnesota, Canada, you know, places where it snows

While visions of Baja Beaches help block out the cold, this past weekend visiting up at Tahoe, on Marla Bay, the Nevada side, we ran across this
'Foreign Snow Machine' just waiting for warmer times...
We broke icicles off the eaves to cool our Pacifico's in an inside cooler, so we wouldn't have to run out in the snow to ice em' down!
It wasn't Baja, but it was fun...Pat made a nice 'withdrawal' from Harvey's 'Wheel-Of-Fortune' machines...while I made a 'deposit' at a Blackjack
table!
