10 months/year.

DavidE - 3-25-2014 at 02:10 PM

Went to the USA near New Years involuntarily. The only thing that kept me from going nuts trying to get back were some truly wonderful NOMADS. And they probably thought I had forgotten all about them :)

The USA is a truly scary place for me. The only reason I go back is because of some really nice folks and well-earned medical care.

measomsan - 3-25-2014 at 02:42 PM

6 to 8 months

larryC - 3-25-2014 at 03:15 PM

Bajaboy - 3-25-2014 at 03:25 PM

We live here year'round. I don't even think about going back to the states and Dan goes back in August to visit his elderly parents in Oregon for a week.

Otherwise - here full time and love it!

Udo - 3-25-2014 at 05:12 PM

I would say about three months total at this time (a week , 2, 3, or a four or five day weekend at a time.

This is a joke, right?
Other than a mufti-billionaire (or a certifiably insane person), I wonder who would want to spend all that money on something that he is using only 2 weeks a year...

I don't think anyone said anything about owning something in Baja....just "how much time spent there?".

vgabndo - 3-25-2014 at 06:52 PM

I was thinking about that while driving today. Since 1993 it has been on average a little over a month a year. I'm getting to the end of month three here in Bahia Asuncion and sometimes wonder what took me so long.

My impression has been that vast majority of people on the board either own or rent something annually. Even if their structure is movable like RV, they keep annual rental pad. Going for this trouble for 2 weeks a year? Not very likely.

There can be all kinds of life situations of course. Somebody is going through a rough patch, medical treatment or divorce, and can't spend too much time in Baja even though he has a place there. And there are also tourists - not by status but by their lifestyle, coming there occasionally and for a short time, and some of them do register on the board which makes them "nomads" I guess. In this latter group you'll find a lot of people spending there a week or two a year.

time.not enough

msawin - 3-25-2014 at 08:25 PM

7ish weeks a year...

rogbag - 3-25-2014 at 08:29 PM

SlyOnce - 3-26-2014 at 07:50 AM

Live in Playas, work in San Diego. Heading south to Loreto in 2 weeks for a vacation.

I love my new lifestyle, I have the best of both sides of the border.

Martyman - 3-26-2014 at 09:49 AM

I get down 3-4 weeks a year. I rent a place year round but have 2 other partners in the rental which keeps it affordable.

ZoeyR - 3-26-2014 at 07:56 PM

4-5 weeks a year, aiming for 5-6 months/ year soon (retirement) and possibly full time.

shari - 3-26-2014 at 08:22 PM

live in Baja round the clock....only go back to Canada for weddings n funerals the last few years.

mcfez - 3-27-2014 at 09:01 AM

With the exception of the last 18 months..........we go to Mex at least for 30 days.......mostly in The Baja.

freediverbrian - 3-27-2014 at 05:42 PM

All of the first page posts said year round ,all of you lucky retired Expats with nothing else to do . The second page is all of still working stiffs with kids in college, and get down south for 30 days a year is a good year!
