EnsenadaDr - 3-28-2014 at 08:50 AM

Funny how after years a song pops up in your head, then I thought "my vote for Nomad Baja Theme song", this song was a classic and I love it.

A big thank you to Nomad 'El Camote' who used this song in the Shell Island portion of his 2001 'Matomi Movie', when I became a fan of the song... That would be fun to have on Your Tube as it shows a bunch of us Amigos de Baja (now Nomads) having fun in Baja!

Another one of my favorites. Here's a version by Jimmy Buffett and JT together. Love his concerts at Irvine Meadows (RIP)

Another Mexico

My favorite, Truckin down the highway by Bread:

From Canada... (BTO)... to Baja... Roll on Down the Highway

David K - 3-28-2014 at 11:00 AM

Bajagrouper's choice reminding me of a popular song when I was in high school and we went to Ocotillo Wells on the weekends to four wheel drive with our Jeeps. 90 miles of highway driving to get there...

well all of these choices are great. I wonder if in a few weeks Doug will let us vote for the Nomad Baja Theme Song?

EnsenadaDr - 3-28-2014 at 11:24 AM

Wow, DENNIS you should have run for President. That has to be the most non-committal answer I have heard since Clinton said he didn't inhale.

Who can it be knocking at my door?
Go 'way, don't come 'round here no more
Can't you see that it's late at night?
I'm very tired and I'm not feeling right

All I wish is to be alone
Stay away, don't you invade my home
Best off if you hang outside
Don't come in, I'll only run and hide

Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?

Who can it be knocking at my door?
Make no sound, tip-toe across the floor
If he hears, he'll knock all day
I'll be trapped and here I'll have to stay

I've done no harm, I keep to myself
There's nothing wrong with my state of mental health
I like it here with my childhood friend
Here they come, those feelings again

Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?

Is it the man come to take me away?
Why do they follow me?
It's not the future that I can see
It's just my fantasy

Oh, who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?

Oh, who can it be now?
Oh, yeah, who can it, who can it
Oh, who can it be now?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah

That's an Aussie Group David. And is it true yu don't want to be bothered in Baja? I found a good rental for yu in Tecate $1600 a month close to the border. Bus on other side of the border takes you to San Diego.

You is a sweeeeeeheart Dra!

I am fighting an automobile that has turned suicidal on me. Old age pains, maybe. I am trapped in BA until it's ransom is satisfied - new timing belt, yadda, water pump, replacement windshield (last comment from US Customs "How the HELL can you see out of that thing?), my generic license plates may be arriving tomorrow and then comes a new A/C compressor. I don't do well in 122F heat and when I go home it will be through the Altar desert, Sonora and SeenaLowyah, where bread burns on the back seat in summer. Got the eetch now, BA and the peninsula has been relegated to the been-there-done-that department, and frankly I am sick and tired of the (need money 150 miles, need medications 250 miles) syndrome.

I am more than slightly apprehensive at the prospect of recovery after back surgery. It's going to take weeks if not a couple of months. But my el disco continues to get worse, not better. Yeah I checked out the MTA schedules from Tecate CA and they look do-able but I've got to cross at least a dozen times if not more to satisfy the medical system for spinal and cataract tune-up and lube job. It's been too long I've been away from home too long and the bug has hit me hard.

Also need to do some shopping for medicines and TYLENOL. And clothes, and whatever. Electronics. USB hearphones, a 24" display for this compooter. Maybe even a laptop that does have use a sundial for a CPU.

I'm not a record producer, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

So, in my professional opinion, the winning theme is

"Gringo". By Little Feat
