Playa Burro Concepcion Whale Shark Tour Wanted

A group of Flying Doctors are going to Abreojos next week. We want to dive the whale sharks. We usually hang out for a day at Playa Burro on Concepcion Bay. There is a woman that lives there near the Kayak rental and her and her husband take people on fishing, snorkeling and waterski trips.

She has a dog named Juanita. I need to get in touch with her for a day snorkeling on April 6.

You are probably talking about Ed and Sandra. I do not know their contact info, but if you email Coco and Celia (who run the restaurant El Burro) with your request, they will be able to make contact for you. Check your U2U for email address.

BTW are you part of the group of doctors and wives that often come swimming on Playa Los cocos? With Craig, wife and 2 little girls, who was the owner/pilot of a Twin Beech?

El Burro beach is our favorite and we would like to hang out there after whale shark snorkeling if possible.

We are staying at serinidad Sat night April 5th

No we are part of Flying Doctors en espanol Los Medicos Voladores. we usually have a yearly meeting at Serinidad. I have a dental clinic in my house downsairs in Punta `Abreojos. we provide dental/medical/vision to several towns in Baja and mainland.

Since I have a house in Abreojos this town is my pet project. I fly a Bonanza A36. last trip to Serinadad was June 9th 2013.

I would like to set up the whale shark trip if ed and sandy are doing those. not sure about Dive Mulege, some negative reviews about reliablity.

Ed of Ed's World Eco-Mundo has a palapa on the far-end of Playa Burro. I don't have his contact information, sorry.

You can rent kayaks from him or ask him to taxi you around the islands until you bump into the whalesharks. Ed ought to know their most recent whereabouts as do most of the beach people camping in the bay.

Edited to add that Dive Mulege is great. Another water taxi option is Daniel. He keeps his panga at Santispac, I've heard; years before he was stationed on Burro.

Sounds like Dive Mulege was having some mechanical issues on the day of the negative post. So good to know he is an option.

I don't know DiveMulege but I lived on Burro for a couple of years. I know you'll get 150% from Ed and Sandra.

If/when you get details, pls post. I'd love to join a whale shark outing.

I'm heading south for a week of camping, whale watching etc on the Pacific side, but would happily go east for whale sharks and join a tour with other nomads.

My plans are completely open at this point- have truck and camper, will travel!

Well, they are choosing to stay in the bay of Playa Coyote lately.

I went down there with a kayak and saw one several times from a distance. No way you can kayak or swim fast enough to keep up with one so I just gave up and for a couple hours enjoyed the day, the exercise, the water, the breeze, the warm sun, the sandy beach, the pretty fish in the reef... exquisite.

On my way back across the little bay that is Coyote, feeling satisfied with life just as it was--
lo' and behold that whaleshark appeared out of nowhere and swam right up to me on the kayak!

I was so excited I tipped the kayak right over into the drink!!
The whaleshark disappeared as quickly and silently as it had appeared.
Beautiful ending to a fine, fine day.

I just paddled from the bay to Loreto, and the whale sharks were there off Coyote when we left a week ago. It was easy to paddle up to them and my wife and I took turns snorkeling alongside one. At least when I was there I could have easily swam up to them from the beach with fins. I saw three and heard there had been five hanging around. It was incredible, swimming with them was a longtime dream realized. Then crossing the bay from the frambes lighthouse we ran into two more about halfway across. One was huge, 25 feet plus, he swam right under the kayak.

As long as the whale sharks are not bothered or molested they are normally quite lazy in their movements and one can easily snorkel next to them.

This one was 3 years ago and hung out for a few weeks in Coyote Bay. Not a problem to swim close to...and use a boat as a camera platform.

His name is Juan Carlos, also called JC. He is at the restaurant where the fire truck is parked. - Across from the entrance to Playa Burro.

There are no telephones or e mail facilities from Mulege to Loreto. You have to go there and look for him.

No other way to get ahold of him.

Unless you have a friend out there with a hughnet internet set up and then there might be internet. . . but certainly no telephones.
