took some fine photos in Cuba while on a 10 day endemic birds-of-Cuba quest recently. Wow! What an island!! We actually photographed 18 of Cuba's
25(23?) endemic (only live in Cuba) bird species. Like to see more? Check out our blogs at BirdsWeSee.com. This Cuban Pygmy Owl looks like he has
eyes on the back of his head
And this Cuban Emerald Hummingbird makes me understand where he got his name!
The Cuban Tody is one of the prettiest birds I've ever seen, just 5 feet away and singing away for us.

WOW just doesn't say it. FANTASTIC photos here and I also love the ones on your blog --- just great!
Owls are among my favorite birds, but I agree, that Cuban Tody is one of the prettiest birds ever --- so cute.
THANK YOU for sharing these. Cuba is definitely on our bucket list.

Very nice Oly
The owl really caught my attention - looks almost like a burrowing owl - in a tree
