Summoned by the Secretary of Tourism of Rosarito, various organizations have united to bring about what will be the second installment of the Mexican
Christmas Festival which will take place from December 10th to 19th in various venues within Rosarito, Mexico, with events that include the great
food, culture and Mexican traditions.
Among the activities planned:
Friday December 10th, 11:30AM: CHRISTMAS PARADE BY DAY. The parade will start at Rosarito Beach Hotel and will conclude at Festival Plaza Hotel.
Saturday December 11th 4:30 PM: CHRISTMAS LIGHT PARADE, which will begin at Calimax Villa Floresta and conclude in front of Festival Plaza Hotel. At
5:30 PM the OFFICIAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING will take place at Festival Plaza Hotel. There will be a FIREWORKS SHOW. Later at 8 PM, the Rosarito
Beach Hotel will host a TRADITIONAL MEXICAN CHRISTMAS "POSADA" and at midnight the TRADITIONAL MANANITAS OR HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE VIRGIN OF GUADALUPE
will be held.
Thursday December 16th, there will be a CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL at Foxploration, where everyone can enjoy a special 2 for 1 admission. The event will begin
at 1:30 PM and will go until 4:30 PM -- an excellent opportunity to enjoy the artificial snow and characters and this movie theme park.
Friday December 17th will be the day for THE TRADITIONAL MEXICAN POSADA at Las Rocas Hotel, being offered by the Sister Cities Committee of Rosarito,
presided by Cesar Rivera, honoring the cities of Glendale and Hungtinton Park.
Saturday December 18th and Sunday December 19th, The Rosarito Restaurant Association (CANIRAC) will have its SECOND ANNUAL TAMALE AND MOLE FESTIVAL,
this event will be held in front of Festival Plaza Hotel.
To end the event Sunday December 19th, in addition to enjoying the wonderful food at 3 PM, a NATIVITY SCENE AND CHRITMAS LIGHT CONTEST AWARD CEREMONY
organized by the Baja California Culture Institute, presided by Olga Sanchez Gaxiola, will be held.
The same day at 4 PM, a PROCESSION will take place starting at Nuestra Senora del Rosario de Fatima Church, culminating in a TRADITIONAL POSADA on the
stage at Festival Plaza Hotel with Christmas plays and carols. Participating in this procession will be the Michoacano community which will carry
traditional "purepecha" masks.

Sounds like Rosarito has not been getting it's quota of drunk kids this year. They're actually going to promote tourism? What a concept.

Mole and Tamale festival!! Now that's worth getting drunk for. Too bad I'm gonna miss it!
