WE FINALLY GOT THEM!

Udo - 3-30-2014 at 02:15 PM

Jana and I started the Residente Permanente process on January 2.
Guerrero Negro INM sent me an e-mail 2 weeks ago that our cards were in!
We went in Friday morning the 28th of March, and picked them up!

The INM representatives, Cota and Gonzalez were really great people to deal with.

CONGRATS!

Good for you! That office really changed and cleaned up its act after the new young boss arrived. Prior to that, we let our guard down and those two earned a big bite. We were angry at ourselves for letting our guard down. For a few years after that, we obtained our FM3s through Alonso in La Paz.

But when that changed and we had to go and sign in person, we went back to GN --- Magda was quite nervous when she saw us and asked why we didn't to it there for those few years. It ended up that once she realized we were not going to rat her out, she became quite the friend. We used to stop there just to say hello many times. And boy, can she gossip. It was always interesting to listen to her.

We really think it was the guy's idea to fleece us and when it happened, Magda was super nervous and her eyes never quit flickering. She treated us very, very well the last couple of years --- we never had a conversation with him again.

Enjoy your new status!

Initially, they started to play the politics game with us. So I called Alonzo from their office (on my cell). He had a conversation with them, and ten minutes later all the paperwork was filled out. We went to the local bank and paid our fees. Returned with our receipts. And then it has just been a waiting game for almost three months.

We spent 9 hours on the road, since we left BA at 6 a.m. on Saturday, and needed to get to Kathleen's before 4 for the SUPPERCLUB party...we had the dessert.

It sounds like you guys were in town while I was there. I woulda come out to say hola if I'da known. Good on ya for getting your res. perm. cards. Are you going to be in BA for the August celebration?

Udo - 4-1-2014 at 12:40 PM

Our next time in BA will be the weekend of April, 18-20.

We may put the house for sale based on the construction next door.
We only spent the night after we got our RP cards because we needed the oven to bake a dessert for a party in Ensenada the next day.
