We left about 8 am and made Cabo at 1:30 pm. 5 1/2 hours included a stop for restroom break & more coffee at a mini market in Insurgentes.
We departed from the Villa del Palmar in Ensenada Blanca which is a good 20 miles south of Loreto.
We rented from Fox using the one way option that costs an extra $160.
The only curvy road is through the Sierra Gigante for about 20 miles and then it opens up pretty much into a straight line to Insurgentes. From
Insurgentes to Constitution the road is a farmland hwy. In Constitution watch for all of the traffic lights and stop signs. The light can be green but
the stop sign means stop.
From Constitution to La Paz is decent hwy. Watch for the turn to Todos Santos or you will end up in La Paz.
From La Paz to Cabo its a 4 lane Mexican freeway. Easy drive.
We followed the speed of other travelers and I know there were plenty of times every one was driving over 70 mph.

Do you have any idea how long that trip took just a few years ago? The four lane South of La Paz has made it an easy day trip for folks staying in
Cabo, who wish to check out La Paz.
Any news on the Todos bypass?

Its done. You exit off the hwy to get to Todos Santos.
There is a new toll road going in that runs from the airport ( SJD ) to the Sunset Beach area west of Cabo. I bet its done by next year.

Some rough sections with road work both east of Insurgentes and south of CC. Very dusty and hard to see with everyone on the side road while they
tear out and lay down new asphalt. Don't forget the roadwork near Juncalito. Very nice to get to the fourlane freeway outside of La Paz. Tio
