Brownies and cake for 75 kids !

BajaBlanca - 4-11-2014 at 05:43 PM

Months ago I suggested that the middle school have a clean up day in order to raise awareness of litter....the principal said the last day of school before spring break (semana santa) would be good.... so this morning all the kids cleaned up around the school for the first hour of class.

Afterwards they all ate brownies and cake -let me tell ya, there was a LOT of baking going on at the house yesterday!

Whale-ista- YOUR BROWNIE DONATION

Here is a picture of the school itself -every single kid was out and about cleaning - I was too busy to take photos so I asked one of the youngsters to do it:

You can kind of see myself and the 9th graders in the distance:

I wish I had taken "before" pics, the trash was horrendous and now presto cleano:

In the end we filled 10 of these huge contractor size trash bags:

Blanca and 7th graders with cake and brownie each:

Me and the 8th graders, also with cake and brownies each:

9th graders:

We had a discussion in all classes about the the Rs of Recycling:

Reuse

Reduce

Recycle

It was great to have all the students participate. If some of them keep the World cleaner, yours truly will be very happy.

Thanks for the donations of cakes and brownies ! I am good to go for months!

PS Doncha just love Marcos the clown in the photo above? He speaks not a word of English after a year and a half of studying it. But he is a hoot to have in class.... and I sure hope he is good in another subject, cause English is just not happenin'

This is Marcos with the regular teacher:
