The Franquicia seems to be undergoing the nightmare process of a hundred and ten permits and inspections. When asphalt and concrete get laid will be the next mile stone. I don't see as yet any signs of a cajera for an ATM machine.

But they have a bunch of stations right out on Mex 1. If you are heading in the Asuncion, fill up before you start over to the coast.

Just fyi, in San Diego County the cheapest gas (Costco, ARCO) around my home is now over $4/ gallon... and up to $4.35 at freeway offramp stations.

Honestly, I don't think it means much. Tesoro bought out BP in SoCal last year and took over their gas distribution. I don't think anything has changed, really. Just a different name selling gas to the stations. Same gas. No more ethanol than was in there before. Same old same old.

The concrete pads around the pumps and over the underground tanks are all done, and the base rock is being compacted for the paving of the lot. Very slow by any standards. "Real" engineered rebar in the pump slabs though, and lots of it.

The current run up in SoCal gasoline prices are more or less an annual event, that despite whatever BS the fuel companies will talk about, i.e. changeover to summer blend, refinery maintenance, Etc., it's all about a feeding frenzy by commodity traders that play Vegas type games to syphon of money for themselves.

Anyone remember when the vertically integrated gasoline providers, pumped, refined and sold at retail, their own product. Doesn't happen today.

Nice shots Perry. Looks like a nice, new, clean site.

I like how they have the dedicated Diesel island, with no canopy, making it easy for big trucks to fuel up. Thanks for the photos of the tank pad, vent pipes (2 gas and one diesel), and what looks like Wayne dispensers. Probably has new state of the art double walled fiberglass underground storage tanks (UST) as well. I wonder if they need a UST inspector? They can hire me but I'll have to charge for the extra mileage. =)
