Tecate coming home question

Cliffy - 4-19-2014 at 06:29 PM

Looking a Google earth I see their picture shows the return line all the way back to the first turn. How long is the wait if the line is that long when one arrives?
Going to try and plan staying overnight at the deaf school and leaving for the border early on a mid-week day.

I crossed that way in Feb a little past the turn, it was 70 minutes (Tuesday morning, 10:30 AM)

This may be a bit of help.

This day the wait was about 1 hour.

At least it's civilized at Tecate when you are in line.

I love it when a citizen drops a dime on a line jumper The local police show up like they are coming after a Bank Robber.:lol::lol::lol:

Maybe follow all the U.S plated vehicles and stay close? Yawn, no worries.

Last Monday at about noon the line was a bit past the stop sign after you turn...wait was an hour and 20 mins...as said, still better and more sane than the other crossings. But don't tell anyone. :tumble:

Well I guess I can read a book while I'm waiting :-) :-) OH I know POP a movie in the laptop!

Not too early or you'll join the work traffic. Around 10-AM would be my educated guess. 11-AM....even better.
Then again.......it's the border, so who really knows til it's over?

Actually Wednesday or Thursday mid-day is "usually" the best day/time of the week, unless its screwed up like the Easter week vacation like last week. Then all bets are off

Hmmm Hadn't thought of morning work traffic

At Tecate, it starts lining up the night before. People park their cars in line, go home to sleep, and go back in the AM to cross. I think it opens at 5-AM.
Buen viaje.

Except for the motorcycle cop checking all cars and handing out tickets if you aren't wearing your seat belt:fire:

And the four-alarm fire response if you dare to try and jump the line, and the being followed through town by the cops, and... no thanks, I'll stick with Otay.
