Check out these new street lights on the main drag in Lopez:

Cheri,
That looks good....brighten things up a bit.

I hope you and Dan are doing well :saint:

All is fine. We are still in San Nicolas until June or so.

Those street lights are something.
Hope they last awhile before someone or something runs into them.

That picture was taken very early in the morning.
It is still very windy and cool in Lopez.

I have never understood Mexico's fascination with street lights? San Bartolo, Los Planos, etc. They have more street lights than they have streets!

Nice, Cher. Many improvements to our little pueblo over time.

Dug into the bowls of my computer but couldn't find any satisfying
image of the main street as it was.

Thanks for posting.

Gentrifcation. A sign of pride about where folks live.

I think it looks great, can not wait to return. It was torn up when we were there too, just use a different road.

This stuff has been happening all over Baja for the past several years. Consider the La Paz malecon, or the San Felipe malecon, or Loreto, or what they did in Ciudad Constitucion or Vizcaino. We should be so lucky, what with our potholes and broken sidewalks.

BajaBlanca - 4-28-2014 at 05:19 PM

Vizcaino seemed to change so fast for us. One day rinky dink sleepy village and now a full blown active town.

chuckie - 4-28-2014 at 05:24 PM

Yeah, that blew me away..from Nada to Metropilis (sp).....Whoda thunk it?

bajacalifornian - 4-28-2014 at 05:27 PM

Right Bajahowodd. Interesting, for example the slow but sure surge

north from Ciudad Insurgentes toward San Ignacio.

Mexico continues her pursuit of tourism development unwavering through drug & market decline.

We'll all decide in San Ignacio to take the Pacific side route, or the Cortez side route.

Headed for Lopez or Loreto.

Kinda like the way to Los Cabos.

So, any idea when there will be a completed paved highway there? Just curious.
