It's all the way to the right as you enter the complex.
You can make the u-turn back into the parking area after you have went thru the secondary inspection area.

Can't miss it. Just pull into the new Declaracion area and park. INM and Aduana are in the big building to the south.

As you approach the southbound US CBP checkpoint, you should position yourself in the right side southbound lanes.

The road makes a sweeping right turn into Mexico, stay in the right lanes

You will come to a sweeping left turn that positions you for the green/red lights and gates of Mexican Customs..........

DO NOT make the sweeping left turn..........go straight towards the big wall. There will be a two story building on your left. Park in the parking lot.

Walk THROUGH the building lobby to the other side. As you exit the building, there will be some bank windows to your right.

After you pass the bank windows, make a left turn. The INM is located in a small office on your left.

Exit the parking lot and merge into traffic for the green/red lights and gates

QUESTION

Can you get a mainland 180-day TIP Temporary Import Permit (automobile) at this oficina of ADUANA?

bobk - 5-8-2014 at 12:53 PM

another question?

is there a 24 / 7 money exchange at the new port of entry? i know there is a bank near the immigration office but how about to exchange dollars for pesos ??

thanks

dasubergeek - 5-8-2014 at 01:42 PM

DavidE: No. Import has to happen at Otay. See ftp://ftp2.sat.gob.mx/aduanas/2012/vehiculos/directorio_banj...

bobk: Not that I'm aware of, but you can pay for your FMM in dollars.

woody with a view - 5-8-2014 at 01:48 PM

the MexiBanks don't like to exchange dollars any longer due to laundering of drug money. just use an ATM at any bank.

bajaguy - 5-8-2014 at 03:19 PM

There is an ATM at/near the bank at the San Ysidro INM/Customs office

And clean restrooms. We always have an extra pen or two on hand. Last time in there was gal from one of the whale tour companies getting 32 visas stamped and processed. The INM guy took care of us in between. Quick and easy and you are on your way.

No, it doesn't. You can only barely see the blue rooftop of that building at the left. Neither it shows that small parking after the secondary that people talked about, where you reportedly can make a U-turn into.

All this video shows is the secondary (and that big fence before the 1st line of gates).

Good news is that you can park in the Declaration yard in that big fenced area even if yo have no items or desire to declare. Now, I didn't walk all the way through the building from that yard, but guys say it's possible so must be it.

After exiting the yard, DON'T drive through the right-most lane alongside the fenced yard and office building - this one is for buses, trailers - but instead go through any of those other gates in the middle.
