So we are down in San Felipe and were heading back today. We got word that the road has been closed due to fisherman protesting the shortening of
fishing season by the government.
We are going to try to take off in the morning. But from what we have heard it takes about 4 or 5 hours to get north or south.
Stay Tuned for more info.

Have you thought of trying the road from SF to Ensenada?
Where is the protest in relation to SF?
CortezBlue - 5-10-2014 at 05:34 PM
Yes, I thought about going the long way around, but, going back to Fenix, it is really a long way around.
I will probably get up early and try to make my way through
It is about KM Marker 58 from what I have heard

Thanks for the up-to-date and real info. Usually not a long-term event but you never know.

I know some people who just experienced it. They had blockaded the road by placing two pangas across , and with other vehicles at each end to make
sure nobody tried to go around.
My friends were stopped for about 1 1/2 hours. The they let them through and then they would stop another group of cars and repeat the process.
One good thing they said was when the got to the border the line was only about 4 cars deep, so that saved them an hour or so waiting to cross.

This same protest occurred on the Sunday of the SF250. We got out of town at 6am, but apparently the road block didn't start until 10, so we were free
and clear. The block then, was just north of San Felipe.

UPDATE
As of Sat at 2pm the fishermen broke up and, supposedly they made some kind of deal with the govt folks.
