Its been reported that there is now a fire in San Ignacio.

I sure hope it is a small palm fire --- I hope.

Saw a picture...It looked like it was in the palms...but the wind was blowing.

I just heard from a friend who has lots of family in San Ignacio, and she said the fire was in the palms and is under control now, thank goodness!

God will do his work through the San Ignacio Mission.

Bad news indeed.

bajajudy - 5-16-2014 at 12:10 PM

Fires are quite common there.
I heard the fire was out!
I was there for my birthday one year and there was a fire
Some people claimed that it was the candles on my cake.

It is out, but they are hoping the winds do not come up again.

Two fires in less than 24 hours in San Ignacio.

Over 32 hectares of palm were burned

I wonder if the new place La Huerta was affected...looks like it's near there from the photo. No way in hell I would ever have a place in a palm grove as beautiful as they are...fire scares the crap out of me.
