Mulege Loreto Losing Your Internet In The PM?

DavidE - 5-19-2014 at 10:20 AM

Go to the store, get charged a kilo for 500 grams worth of meat. Mechanic charges full price for job, leaves car disassembled, gardener charges for 404 hour week works 20.

Prepay for internet and it does not work most of the time.

On your next bill write

I called Mexico City last week and roared. Actually I insulted them by being extraordinarily polite and declaring the internet service in Africa or Guatemala to be more reliable than it is here.

mulegemichael - 5-19-2014 at 02:37 PM

sounds to me like you'd be a lot happier up north..

DavidE - 5-21-2014 at 09:23 AM

I would be happiest if I weren't being ripped off.

But my question was not answered. Is Mulege and Loreto losing internet service in the PM?

David K - 5-21-2014 at 09:29 AM

Dah-veed, did you leave Bahía Asunción?

chuckie - 5-21-2014 at 09:59 AM

I have been gone from Mulege for a couple of months David, but No, had no such problems...

DavidE - 5-21-2014 at 10:45 AM

The six existing towers between Loreto and La Paz can have service upgraded to transmit 8.5 times more signal for 260,000 dollars plus that fifty dollar a hour Mexican labor. Reread times TIMES. That's 850% and the CABRON buys his stuff cheaper than I can get it (by far).

One fill-up of Slime's Ocean Liner, costs 700,000 dollars. Wanna hear a hoot? He has been filling up in Venezuela at 27 cents US per gallon. The man severely needs to be banned from business in the USA. He is a thief.

There is a Major T4 fiber Optic Cable Junction in La Paz.

Davide is the classic example of the "have nots". Uncle Carlos fills up in Venezuela at .27/gallon because he can. If Davide could find gas at .27, he would be first in line. One of the reasons Uncle Carlos is rich is because he can buy his fuel at .27. Davide whines and snivels about his communication cost and service, he doesn't own a communications empire that provides those services where none existed, Uncle Carlos does. When Davide gets his communications empire, things will change, you bet. BUT I wouldn't hold off doing business with Uncle Carlos until that happens. I agree with what someone else said since he seems to hate everything Mexican, he should leave, Venezuela perhaps, gas is cheap .27/gallon.....

bajabuddha - 5-22-2014 at 09:07 AM

... some people just wouldn't be happy even if they wuz hung with a new rope.

DavidE - 5-22-2014 at 09:09 AM

Uncle David PAYS HIS gosh darnNED BILLS CHUCKIE

UNCLE DAVID says he is going to do something and HE DOES IT

UNCLE DAVID had to help a neighbor this month Chuckie who could not pay an electrical bill, so Uncle David emptied his wallet, every gosh darnned last peso to my name to help. They could never afford to pay a deposit and reconnect.

I have not money Chuckie, but I have integrity. I do NOT screw people. And I do not tolerate those who do. Especially prey on the poor.

But MORE IMPORTANTLY, many feel it is more important to criticize forum participants than it is to answer a simple gosh darnned question.

Remember back that far?

When I asked if Mulege and Loreto was losing their internet in the PM?

SFandH - 5-22-2014 at 09:13 AM

What do you mean by "losing", running slow or just not there?

bajabuddha - 5-22-2014 at 09:15 AM

I noticed a definite decline in service in the PM hours in San Lucas (Sta Rosalia Telcel) when everyone is off work, out of school, and texting/internet-ing to their heart's content. Typical effect of a server selling more service than they can provide. Also saw it with a half-dozen servers in the U.S., same cause and effect.
Man, it must be tough going through life in that hot Super-Hero cape, no wonder you're so cranky. You should try a lighter fabric, and a cold shower. You ain't gonna fix it, so take a chill-pill, Phil.

David K - 5-22-2014 at 09:16 AM

Integrity is an interesting word...

Udo - 5-22-2014 at 09:21 AM

You never answered DK's question, DavidE.
Did you leave BA and are now in Loreto?

chuckie - 5-22-2014 at 09:38 AM

If you could actually read Davide, you would find that I was the only one that actually answered your question...Uncle Carlos pays his bills also, as do I and many others..But we dont wring our our hands and cry about it, many of us do good things but dont feel the need to tell the world how wonderful we are. Many of us didn't like where we were living, so we moved. You have the same option. Exercise it..

willardguy - 5-22-2014 at 09:51 AM

you're making no sense again eidell, how bout starting another batch of your famous pickles?

Bajaboy - 5-22-2014 at 10:15 AM

I was told Internet service in BA has been spotty lately. I was also told that someone had been stealing copper wire and thus affecting Internet. But I do not have first hand info...I will in three plus weeks, though.

DavidE - 5-22-2014 at 10:19 AM

Par for the course. Set out bait and guess who comes to dinner...

Slim collects money then does not deliver product nor makes any attempt to meet his obligations. I realize this concept is a little too complicated for you two to grasp but spend some time and try. It's basic ethics.

chuckie - 5-22-2014 at 10:22 AM

Actually what you just said is basic BS.

vgabndo - 5-22-2014 at 11:01 AM

Lets see. Three days ago on my evening walk along the unusually large pounding waves, the surf washed up to my feet a vigorously live grand daddy lobster which was delicious for my dinner. The next afternoon I was invited to lunch by a very interesting lady where we enjoyed fresh Crab Burgers and good conversation, last night another delightful lady invited me to dinner where we got the last two orders of Abalone Steak and had a yummy time. Right now the best local band in town is practicing across the street. I have live Mexican music.

Oh, and my internet is slow in the afternoon during the hours of heaviest use, and sometimes is simply unavailable for an hour or so. Somehow I'm managing to get by.

chuckie - 5-22-2014 at 01:13 PM

That was a good post, Vgabndo...so much else to enjoy and do rather than screaming about things out of our control. Here in Colorado, I pay almost twice what I did in Mulege for phone and internet, I lose it almost every day for a while around 4 in the afternoon, it comes back...it is what it is...Besides, it's something we never had for a long time, and we survived...

Sounds wonderful Perry! I think I could give up Internet for a few hours a day to have that kind of life!

So, why the secret about Dah-veed leaving Asunción? I remember when he vanished from Tecate, CA. around 10 years ago... then from Mazatlan, SIN... and years went by before he returned here to Nomad? It is just normal curiosity since you post on a public forum that we wonder about your where-abouts.

I don't know about the Venezuela thing, I've seen them fueling two of his yachts in La Paz. We actually had to wait for fuel while they were topping off his tanks at Marina Costa Baja. The money it costs him to fill his tanks is probably the equivalent of me spending the change in my ashtray on a liter of magna.

Love Uncle Carlos..wish I was him...

I have no idea, I've never met the man.

Pescador - 5-22-2014 at 09:05 PM

When I went off of Hughes net and onto the Infinitum, it is lighting fast in the morning, but when the kids get home from school, it goes to slower and slower yet, sometimes going completely out of service. I called Mexico City and talked to them. They are very aware of the problem and it is probably going to get worse. For a long time I assumed that the fiber optic cable that went down the peninsula was providing some internet service, but I was informed that does not happen, it is going by the towers. So I adjust and handle my time accordingly. So far no rants on Bajanomads or calling everyone a doofus or worse because I don't get all that I pay for. I like Ralph's response. Somehow I am getting by, perhaps that is because I am more of an optimist. Thought that David E might take the helpful nudge and do a course correction, but I have tried that before. Like my Daddy used to say," Son, I suspect that everyone in the Army is out of step but You, so good luck with that".
