Overnight in San Jose

Marie-Rose - 12-11-2004 at 10:42 AM

Hope someone can give some suggestions...we have friends who will be spending holidays, with their children , in Todos Santos. Their 21 yr old son does not arrive into San Jose until 8pm.(days after the rest of the family have arrived) We have recommended not driving the road between Cabo and Todos at night.
Does anyone have a suggestion for overnight accomodation in San Jose...(finances are limited)?Parents would pick him up in am.
Thanks!!

Last week my daughter-in-law stayed at the Hotel Diana--a bit noisy because it's on the highway, but comfortable enough and only $29. That's the good news.

The bad thing is that cab fare from the airport to the hotel--although it isn't far away--is around $40. With luck, maybe he can find someone to share a ride with.

Tell him to take a shuttle not a cab.
There are also several hotels right downtown although I doubt you could make reservations beforehand.
The Diana is a ways from town and he would probably want to wander around after he gets here.
good advise not to drive that road at night....very good

Are any of those downtown hotels also inexpensive?

The two hotels downtown that are under $40 are the Ceci and Coli.
The Coli does not allow smoking in the rooms. It is kitty corner from Morgans restaurant.
The Ceci is right across from the church and the town square.
