Decided we would like to spend a couple days near Cabo Pulmo, but we are having trouble finding a place to stay with A/C. I've heard it's hard to
sleep at night without it (July). Is Los Barrilos close enough to stay and then drive to Cabo Pulmo....or can someone recommend somewhere closer?akbear - 6-5-2014 at 12:08 PM
Los Barriles is close to make day trips to Pulmo. The Los Barriles Hotel in town has air & pool, close to everything in town. Do not know the
rates. There is a new place in La Ribera, the View, but looks pricey. Rancho Leonero is nice too. There are more places that somebody will tell you

A lot of the places in Cabo Pulmo will run their generator at night for you for AC but for like $20 a night.
We were there in September and it was HOT at night and we had some trouble sleeping. The place we stayed had fans but they were tiny and did very
little.
When we went to Cabo Pulmo, we stayed at the beach resort bungalows. Had reservations for 4 nights there. Were told anything we wanted to hear, I
guess. . . Generators shut off at 10 at night and started at 8 the next morning - maybe - otherwise not until someone felt it was time. Never again
going there! Buena Vista would be nice. Going to try

You are spot on to not stay anywhere where there is no electricity. It is hot and humid. Los Barriles would seem a bit far to go to C Pulmo and back

it's really not THAT far, blanca....about 30 miles i would guess with 20 of that paved then really rough road for 10 or so....but just way way too hot
not to have a/c...for us gringos, anyway....we are in mulege now and yesterday our climate system said 111 degrees for the first time ever!!....and

try vbro for a place in around los barriles. a day trip to ribera or santiago is not that far we did them both several times while we were there.
stopped for lunch at the roadside taco place in ribera, food was good and very reasonably priced. the place in santiago was a bit more upscale and
more pricey, but again good food, before the ride to the falls you can even get a margarita to go for your walk to the falls in santiago if you can

Only one person in Cabo Pulmo tried to tell me it would be okay without A/C. Most told me to look elsewhere in July, I appreciated their honesty! I
did call Rancho Leonero...but for our family of five it would be $431 a night, and that is out of our price range. Waiting on a couple VRBO responses

Playa Rincon just south of La Ribera is just about the last municipal power heading south. There are a couple of VRBO places to rent there but they
are pretty pricey.
We just came back from our house project in Lighthouse Point and had a dinner at the restaurant at Casitas Vista La Ribera.
They are on the hwy to Cabo Pulmo just south of La Ribera. They have 4 really nice A/C'd casitas. One with a king bed, some with 2 queens. Brand new
and really nice - not rustico. Small kitchenets with fridges, counter tops and sinks - I didn't notice microwaves but I could easily have missed them.
Pool right out front. The manager quoted me $100/per night and it includes breakfast. From there you are 20 minutes or less (I beat rentacars like
rented mules) to Cabo Pulmo.
Other choices are Hacienda La Ribera - a B&B in La Ribera. I haven't been in it so no direct feed back. Trip Advisor has a few reviews. Also lots
of VRBOs in La Ribera but most won't rent for just a few days especially during A/C season.
As I said, we just got back from Lighthouse point and without AC for sleeping it would have been miserable. Ask if you have questions and I'll do my

I can highly recommend Casa Gabriella. We've stayed there 3 or 4 times and love it. You just can't beat 10 steps down from the covered patio and
across the sand to the waters edge. We'd still be staying there every trip if we hadn't found housing closer to our building project at Lighthouse
Point.
