Hi, I'm new to the list today. Looking forward to the adventure.
I might be in Ensenada for a couple of weeks and would like to find a bajo sexto player to take lessons from. Is there any Musica Norteña in Ensenada
(classic accordion, bajo sexto, bass, sometimes with drums, saxophone and these days tuba) in Ensenada? Is there someone I could approach?
I was only in Baja for a few days 20 years ago. I’m really ready to get my feet wet. Right now I’m limited in time but look forward to heading all the
way down south.

Welcome to BajaNomad, Panhandle.
Near Miramar Street [Sin Street], downtown Ensenada, there is/was a Mariachi union office where a lot of musicians hang out, waiting for gigs, I
suppose. You'll just have to search around for exactly what you want. You'll probably find it.

Try sending an e-mail to Gil Sperry who puts on the Mariachi Festival every year in Rosarito. He is tied in to a lot of musicians and several who
teach at the Boys and Girls Club. He may be able to lead you in the right direction.

Also, check at the music store in the tourist area, I have had some discussions with musicians there and I am sure that you could fine a good bass
player that can work with you on bass.
