Las Rocas Hotel, Rosarito?

My wife are I are currently watching House Hunters international in Rosarito. We were just reminiscing about all the times we stayed at las Rocas. We even celibrated my grand mothers 80th there years ago.

Last time we were there it'll looked rather dumpy. Has it cleaned up or gone down hill still?

Cool place. Needs a paint job but has cool pool and margaritas.

Never stayed there. Read an article in the WSJ too many years ago to remember that it was cartel owned and Americans that stayed there came under scrutiny by the State Dept.

Stayed there last year, it was nice but the crowd was real young. (20s to 30s). If your OK with a little bit of a party atmosphere then its fine though. Cheap prices, rooms were clean...

I imagine the Cartels have their fingers in many places,
Casa de Cambios, I've heard. But the article is saying the
US State Dept has access to the names of clients staying at a
particular Hotel in Mex? They must be paying the desk clerk
for such info

I "think" that hotel was north of Rosarito and south of San Antonio del Mar. The army took it over for a while

It's a bummer that it has gone down hill. I remember that they had 20% discount for AAA membership. It was great for weekend get a ways.

The Oasis. Hotel had 100% occupancy for about a decade apparently.
