I came across this on Tacoma World. Pretty smart of them.

I had a new 1988 Nissan that had those pockets, they have ben around forever on small trucks.
but I can believe someone dumb enough to drive a Toyota would believe they just discovered them.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

There are vertical slots for putting stops too they keep stuff from rolling all the way back or forward.

Be nice. Those Tacoma boys are a little slow.

My big boy truck is a Yukon XLT and with the 3rd row seat removed I can haul 40 4'x8' sheets of plywood or drywall inside without worrying about the weather. Just doesn't get the mileage that a Tacoma does.

I had a 93 Toyota and now have a 04 Tacoma and there are no pockets or slots on either one. I did have an 07 Tacoma work truck and drove it for 3 years before I retired and frankly I never noticed or paid attention any pockets or slots except the covered compartments and the electrical outlet in the bed. Anytime I had to haul plywood or drywall I used my full size GMC truck.

One guy on Tacoma World said he had to explain what they were to the salesman. Now that's funny.

if you don't have em, most bed liners come with them.

bed rack for second generation Tacoma

John M - 6-10-2014 at 04:25 PM

I had this built recently. It replaced a smaller, but very serviceable style of cross bed rack.

Perfect height to slide my 5 day cooler under, and uses the factory cleats to secure it. Held perfectly over hundreds of miles of Baja's dirt roads.
