Places to buy organic produce in BCS?

Can anyone suggest places to get good organic produce in the East Cape area, and/or verify this Information is up to date/correct?

Also, any upcoming events I should be aware of? (either to attend, or avoid excess crowds/ traffic etc.)

There is Oscar that comes to Los Barriles twice a week that sells organic produce, Wed & Sat. Right down from the fountain across from the Plaza. 10 - 2

The San Jose Organic Market is over for the season. We will start back up the first Saturday in November.
Mega has some organic products. Both produce and other things like rice, grains, sugar. These products are in a center aisle right in front of the deli.

Yesterday, I got mixed lettuce, arugula, zucchini, and beets from Oscar, when I can get it, I prefer to buy local. When you can't, check out the produce at Costco.
Also, if you are in LB, check out Tanya at Blue Wave Natural Foods, she doesn't sell produce, but she does have a good selection.

Grains, oils, date sugar, juices, agave syrup, nut butters, soaps, yogurt, non gluten breads and tortillas, etc.
I just Googled Blue Wave Natural Foods Los Barriles, and website is at the top.
She is pretty well stocked.

Two thumbs up for Oscar. His produce comes from a family operation.

Tanya also has seaweed, canned goods, sauces, soups, treats, a bit of dog food, vegetarian treats and staples, etc. and can bring in health and food products you might not find easily.

Also the Santa Carmela Market grocery store near Home Depot on the way to CSL.

Having a garden is a great way to have fresh vegetables.

just for your info, oscar in los barriles is based in miraflores and has farms in miraflores and in las cuevas. his farms are USDA inspected and he is extremely fussy about his farms and produce.

a few years ago, he gave me and three friends a tour of his farms in miraflores. upon arriving at his main location, he asked me not to smoke on his properties, no problem.

when the pickers bring in daily produce, his processors are required to shower in his facilites before handling any produce. the processing areas are sanitized as well with USDA approved cleaning supplies. produce is bagged and put in a cool room readied for delivery.

the USDA does unannounced inspections of his farms and facilities to insure his his produce is organic.

his second farm in las cuevas was created after an extensive search

oops...

for land that has never been used or contaminated to insure the organic designation and the las cuevas farm is also inspected by the USDA unannounced.

so, his produce is truly organic by U.S. standards and he does ship his produce to the U.S. and CANADA.
