Ken, a CJ-7 has round headlights... so unless he swapped in a YJ Wrangler front, maybe not?

Thanks for the photos of how Jeeps are modified in Mexico!:bounce:

Thanks for the great photos, Ken!

BTW...that red jeep for sale for $23,500 MN. is a great deal $1,795.00 USD!

YJ for sure - other than the obvious rectangular headlights, the CJ front pumpkin is on the passenger side.

ehall - 6-18-2014 at 09:32 AM

Thats the brakes. Notice there are no brakes at the wheels.

55steve - 6-18-2014 at 09:36 AM

All the stuff looks pretty much booty-fab to me.

A lot of heavy duty earth moving equip has that setup for brakes and they work quite well. it uses the gear train rather than a drum or disc on each axel.

I should have snapped a photo of the round dash board instruments. Willy swapped the hood, fenders, body panels, windshield and windshield frame, leaf suspension to coils, added long radius arms (popular about 10 years ago), upgraded the steering, but the interior is pure CJ-7 era.

..also to help keep the wheels connected to the road. Some wheel drive sports cars have the drums/discs mounted inboard right next to the differential and is called de-Dion rear axle.

A lot of older cars hat the Emergency Brake on a Drum or Disc behind the transmisson where the drive shaft was attched. Same principal ,use gear traim reduction to increase brakeing.

Willy weighs in...

Willy weighs in on the Jeep. Here's what he said...

"Yeap its a cj7"

A CJ-7 with a YJ front end (grille, square headlights, etc.) and a YJ doors... One has to ask Y (why)? :?:

LOL... Have a nice weekend Ken!

Not to mention he swapped in a YJ Dana 30 front diff along with ditching the far superior Dana 300 t-case to go with the YJ NP-231 chain drive case.

Jeeps were my life for a lot of years - I've built or had a hand in building many vehicles.
