inexpensive RV park or a space to put one

Almost everyone down here stays at the Vagabond Inn in Chula Vista when they go up for DR appointments.
www.vagabondinnchulavista.com

I f you tell them you are coming from Baja when you book the rate is $50/ night including free WiFi, Continental breakfast, pool and Jacuzzi.

Even if you are coming up 3 times / month I don't think you could get an RV space with hook-ups for that price.

There's Campland on the Bay in Ocean Beach, too.
Very nice. www.campland.com

Edited to add that there's another one not far away.

Google "rv parking San Diego" for a thorough list.

WE stay at Sunland R.V. Resorts they own several in and around san diego thier price averages about 50$ a day by the month its 600$ plus electricty. they are nice places and thats about average for prices in the San Diego Area. it varies some from season to season

There's a KOA in Chula Vista. Check their website for rates, because they vary.

One thing to consider is to join Passport America. They cost $44 for membership, and you get 50% off regular rates at participating parks. You can go online and find parks State by State. You'll pay for the membership your first 3 nights. Downside, each park has its' own restrictions on what days, how many days, etc., so bit of a boondoggle there. I use it all the time, makes RV'ing much more affordable especially if you're travelling. I had 3 day's work done on my truck in San Diego and stayed in a park in El Cajon (forgot the name). Nice park, great price.
