Drive Time Vizcaino to Cabo San Lucas

Bajaboy - 6-24-2014 at 06:50 PM

Hi all,

Looking for an approximate drive time from Vizcaino to Los Cabos. We won't be stopping very often and are veteran Baja drivers. We're finally heading down to visit some friends in Elias Calles and then taking the kids to the Pirate Ship in Cabo.

Thanks in advance.

Zac

PS...weather is great in Bahia Asuncion. Come on down and visit.

13ish Hours would be my guess
4 or 5 to Loreto
5 to La Paz
2.5 to either of Los Cabos

It's always faster the I plan for. Once you get past the grade inbound to Santa Rosalia and the mountains past Loreto it goes quick, I do tend to drive hard. It's about 450 miles, so it's a full day. Done the drive from Rice and Beans to Todos easy in a day, but is most of the day. 10 plus hours of driving. Your mileage/time may very.

If am am doing the full drive to the tip first day is S I. Rice & Beans first day. Where ever I going around the tip day 2. Lots of nomads think this is to fast. It works for me I not retired and I have lots to do, yet.

Have fun and be safe.

I usually use 50 MPH as a general rule in Baja. I know when I've looked at the GPS on long trips, that's usually my average. Just divide the miles by 50 (or 40 to be conservative) and you have a good guess. I'm just stating this to hear myself talk. I know you have it handled.

Have fun. I'll hold the chicken coop fort down while your gone.

Dern's guess was 15 hrs.

Have fun!

It's an easy day's drive if you get an early start, on the road at 6am, drinking a margarita in Cabo at 6pm....be careful and have fun.....dt

Watch those uphill left hand turns. Know you're a veteran,

but it doesn't hurt to remind ourselves.

And construction out of Loreto, coming in to Insurgentes, before the Agriculture Inspection at KM 22 north of La Paz.

Lots of highway re-surfacing projects and could be an hour wait at the "taking down the mountain" site out of Loreto.

9 constructions sites out of Loreto south...with waits of up to one hour at one spot. factor that in to the usual, I count on a minimum of one additional hour Loreto to Constitucion.

Thanks again. I was wondering about any construction. We will leave early and stop in Elias Calles on the way down.

Coming back north to Bahia Asuncion we will get a hotel. Any suggestions for family friendly hotels? We have stayed at El Morro in El Rosario in the past.

Todd and I did it in one day, but don't suggest that with wee ones.

Boy, La Paz to TS is now less than an hour and EC is only 15 minutes mas. From Pescadero Cabo ius less than 50minutes! The coolest area right now is TS, Peskys, EC! Lots of warm, humid weather at the moment= A/C. Stay Cool. Tio
