"We pledge" signs no longer at the SY port

Before the new construction on the Port, the old lanes had signs posted at each entrance to the booth locations. The signs were titled something like Our Pledge to travelers. The signs listed about a dozen item such as We pledge to greet each traveler in a positive manner. We pledge to be courteous and respectful to traveler's. We pledge to helpful... We pledge to provide good service... And I think the last item was the email address to contact a person if a traveler was unhappy about the CBP service.

Now that the new lanes are finished except for a few, they have not put the Pledge signs back up. I guess they don't want to encourage travelers to expect good service or treatment from the CBP.

Anyone have a picture of the Pledge sign?

Not the sign but....

the CBP web site says:

To keep our borders secure, we must inspect everyone who arrives at a U.S. port of entry. We pledge to treat you courteously and professionally. We do not assume that you have done anything wrong - because very few travelers actually violate the law. As part of your inspection, you may be asked questions on:

· Your citizenship,

· The nature of your trip, and

· Anything you are bringing back to the United States that you did not have with you when you left. (never heard them say that)

We may also examine your baggage, including electronic equipment, or your car, which we have the legal authority to do. If we are checking your baggage, you will need to place it on the exam station and open it. (After the exam is completed, you will be asked to repack and close the baggage.) If at any point you are unhappy with the way you are being treated, ask to speak to a CBP supervisor.

I have almost always been treated courteously. The only problem occurs because I have a Callen Camper and a Sentry pass. I explain that there was no problem with the camper when I got my pass. They somtetimes gripe but that is as far as it goes.
