A follow up... It was pretty warm in Temecula, but we had a good turnout and one person told me he read about it here on Nomad. We had met previously at the Mike Younghusband slide show in San Diego, a couple years ago. More people bought books as a percentage of attendees, and we got good reviews after the show. Thank you!

I think Max told me we have a show in September at the Panama Canal Society meeting. If you belong to a historical group or any organization and would like a casual, but fulfilling PowerPoint one hour presentation for your organization, contact us: oldmissions AT gmail.com (AT = @)

Most people don't realize that the history they learned is not always the way it happened! We cover the founding of all 48 California missions from 1697 to 1834 and show how the first California missions where in Baja and later that Baja and Alta California missions were established together during the same years. The missions of Alta California were not built a "day's ride" apart from San Diego north by any stretch of the imagination, either. It was a tough life and many people died during Spain's occupation of the New World. Learn how events actually occurred in California during the 137 years of mission establishment here. These missions are still (mostly) view-able and that is perhaps why this history has more connectivity to people today.
