New Doctor in Town

EnsenadaDr - 7-12-2014 at 11:29 AM

To all of my friends and nemeses on the Board, I have been too busy getting my office ready to play detective and solve missing persons' cases (yes, I know you are disappointed). I recently received my cedula profesional (official license to practice in Mexico) and will be serving the Ensenada-La Mision-Rosarito-Tijuana corridor. You may contact me on my Mexican cell at 646-185-7966 or email me at jcinsd@yahoo.com for all your healthcare needs or concerns.

Salud!!

Wonderful. I hope you have success but still find time to see the Baja that exists way beyond Ensenada!

Sandlefoot - 7-12-2014 at 01:28 PM

Congrats Doc!!! But do keep finding the time to solve mysteries, and play detective! But....come to think of it....that is what you have been training for. Thinking out of the box, is a very valuable asset for a good doctor, keep exercising it.

Hope for a very successful practice!!!
Happy Trails

Doctor, if you wouldn't mind for us newbies could you introduce yourself by name
I went to you profile and all it says is "Ensenada Dr"
Name and address of officina would be great
Thanks!

Great news - and well deserved. Congratulations!

Does your physician work for YOU?

EnsenadaDr - 7-13-2014 at 09:18 AM

DOES YOUR PHYSICIAN WORK FOR YOU?

Since I have been in the local community, I have heard many stories, especially the ones saying that they go to the local pharmacy, see a doctor, and no one even asks if the patient has allergies to medication and prescribes them Penicillin!!

I think all of us realize the importance of a good history and physical, and especially allergy alerts. That is why I encourage all of you to get with a Doctor that can sit down with you either in the office or in the comfort of your home and spend at least a half hour to an hour to get to know you first before ANY medication or treatment is prescribed.

We all realize there is a tremendous language barrier here and many important points get lost in translation. Why waste any more time? Contact a Doctor that is licensed in Mexico but speaks your language.

Salud!!

Call me for an appointment.

Could you describe your practice? I'm assuming it would be similar to primary care physician, but I'm not familiar with medical practice in Mexico. If your patient needs referral to a specialist, how does that work?

redmesa - 7-13-2014 at 08:58 PM

Do you have hospital privileges? If so, which hospital? How does that work in Mexico?

EnsenadaDr - 7-13-2014 at 10:13 PM

I would refer you to the appropriate specialist. You would consider me a general practice physician, or primary care physician.

EnsenadaDr - 7-13-2014 at 11:03 PM

Most hospitals in Mexico have hospitalists that attend to patients like they do in the US. It is very rare for a primary physician to attend to the same patients in the hospital, as the medicine within the hospital is more emergent than an office visit. At the moment, I only see patients in my office.

Good luck, Janene!!

EnsenadaDr - 7-14-2014 at 09:38 PM

Thanks, as long as I stay away from being a detective, I think the Nomad community will be more accepting....by the way...no, I better not go there.
