Graham Mackintosh Just Became an American Citizen!

David K - 12-15-2004 at 10:31 PM

Congratulations to Graham!

Born and raised in England, came to visit friends in Los Angeles, took a bus ride down the peninsula, caught Baja Fever... bad!

Walked 3,000 miles around the coast of Baja (20 years ago) and wrote: Into A Desert Place.

Moved to San Diego, married an American woman (Bonnie), walked 1,000 miles down the middle of Baja (7 years ago), wrote 'Journey With a Baja Burro', stayed 4 months with a couple of Baja dogs at 8,000 feet (2 years ago), wrote 'Nearer My DOG to Thee'... http://www.grahammackintosh.com

Quite a guy! I just got the email tonight with a photo... congratulations Graham!

He's not the guy

holding up traffic in Ensenada is he?

David K - 12-15-2004 at 11:49 PM

I don't think so JR???

I forgot to mention that Graham had a part in the movie Titanic, as well (played a clumsey drunk). You can see him in a couple scenes. The red hair really shows up on the screen.

I am impressed with his travels in Baja. As far as having a part in the Titanic movie down here, who didn't?
I'm pretty sure Graham feels the same way about it.
Wanna buy an original blueprint? Almost free for you my friend!!

He became a citizen in order to escape the high UK tax rates on his exorbitant income!

What dose that mean??????

how hard do you have to work and how much money do you make to have exorbitant income!

Lighten up. He's done what millions wish they could.

My father told me that becoming a citizen was the proudest moment of his life.

Congratulations Graham!

Graham! gives us all some thang to dream about when we think about Baja.

It is not to be a true adventurer these days. I think what ever he makes he deserves. He not only enjoys the adventure But he has a fine talent for writing it down and shearing it with all of us .

Good dog, Graham! We are still laughing from your two speaking engagements at our Desert Explorers annual meetings.:bounce::bounce:

Another message for Graham: (Hey why don't you log on and speak?)

Do you have any book-signings scheduled for Yuma for the new one? I got signed copies of your first 2 at Blythe. Later, you went up the Colorado with my tocayo, his lady, and me. I'm the one who drank the most beer.

Would love to invite you to another good brew at Monarch's Rest. But, unfortunately Ian went belly-up and it's closed. Tanks and all just sitting there. I hope another brewer will come along and buy the micro-brewery. It's a GD shame to waste such a facility.
