The surf here in San Diego today is huge. We have strong offshore winds and the waves are coming in sets above 10-feet, some as high as 15-feet or
more. Can't wait to see the news tonight when I get home. All the piers were shut down!

Just walked in from my second 'board meeting' today.
FUN FUN FUN! The wind
is offshore and the waves are pumping. No 15 footers but some overhead sets for sure. This time last week I was surfing in 80 degree water in trunks
and a rash guard. Today I had all the neoprene going.

Still packing and need to do some last minute shopping....went to a "fishing " store the other day to look around...end up finding a
MirrOlure.....used to use these as a kid in MIAMI fishing in the Miami River...could catch tarpon and snook on a lucky day...haven't seen these lures
in MANY years...any old timers remember these?....now I am ready to fish.....

Surfer Jim,
Where did you find the lure? I don't recall seeing them in my few trips to the fishing store.

Where and when on the Miami River did you fish? I grew up in Miami and I remember these lures too! But, we used to just fish for brim in the canals,
using hair hooks and biscuit doe. We'd catch a lot of mullet that way also.

Hello fishermen. On those Mirrolures...they have been the trolling lure of choice here in Mulege area for about 5 or 6 years now. Sold at our
friend's El Tienda (Claudia y Miguel) in town. Also at SquidCo in San Diego near Post Office on Midway/Barnett. Good place. Maybe elsewhere, too?
Popular lure. Best I've used is large size. Goes 25ft at 5-7mph...deadly on lots of fish types. A couple days ago many yellowtail were caught on
Mirros offshore San Marcos Island over 180' bottom. Caught my best cabrilla - 26lber- on a hot pink color! Just got the latest...white with red
eyes. Good luck on your trip and good fishing for dinner!
Last spring these were very effective at Croc Bay, Costa Rica.
