have been tracking the heat index here in Loreto, every evening around 7:30. it's running 107-118.

That maybe the index but the highest thermometer reading this year so far has been 90 degrees and that was this afternoon here in Nopolo.

WOW...It's already been 9 years since I moved from La Quinta (next to Indio) and I am happy to say I don't really remember how those temperatures feel. No, now that I think about it, I remember. My apartment in Tijuana doesn't have AC and I don't mind. I feel your pain desert rats.

I say it again, the trick to stay comfy in a high humidity environment is to keep the moisture out of the air. A one ton unit, even in a large room , will take a sh*t load of condensation water out of the air and will find a temp at 85 degrees very comfortable.

104 yesterday and today in the shade on my front porch here in Loreto Central. It's the humidity that makes it heavy, though. Very damp.

Must be global cooling down there in Nopolo.
Up here in El Centro Loreto, it hit 102 yesterday (wednesday) in the shade.

90 degrees when I woke up this morning (thursday) at 5am.

It got up to 109 here in San Felipe yesterday! It was still 102 about 10 last night and a chilly 92 at 5:30 this morning. It is suppose to be cooler today....about 100, but I don't see that happening with the heat and humidity we had even before sunrise! We need a "sweaty" emoticon on this site!!

It was 100 on my way home from work today (East Bay, San Francisco CA area). Hot, no humidity to speak of. AC was awesome when I got home since the AC in my car broke!!!
