Just returned from a few days in Guadalupe Valley. Tried lots of wines, chocolates, cheese. Also took a spin to the coast. Had a delicious lunch in
Ensenada at la Guerrense street cart.
We arrived early Sunday for final day of Vendimia, so lots of visitors and traffic. My friend and I tried a bed & breakfast, at the end of 2 miles
of a rough dirt road off hwy 3, in a canyon full of small oaks (encinas), hence the same: Los Encinares.
We found it on AirBnB for Ensenada.

The photos looked lovely so we took a chance and reserved two rooms. They were having a grape stomping contest that afternoon and offering lots of
delicious food and wine to visitors and guests alike.
Lots of water in this valley, so this place and other nearby has a pool, good water- but no electricity. They run a generator until approx 2 am, then
it's lights out, candles only til around 7 am or so. Candles are provided in room, with bottle of filtered water. Fireplaces are in rooms for
fall/winter guests.
Since it's in a deep valley there's also very limited cell service.
The narrow valley is full of trees, but you can climb up the hill and see the view from a grape vine covered slope that's part of the property.
Rooms are large, comfy, basic. We paid $100/night. Breakfast is tasty and simple, and no other meals provided. Good idea to bring ice chest and
food/drinks if you plan to spend much time on site, and bring your own food or leftovers from meals nearby; there are many excellent meal options
available nearby, so you wont go hungry. (My friend said the roasted chicken and vegetables from the road stand were delicious.)
Quiet, peaceful. Stars were amazing- even a few perseid stragglers flashed overhead. The grounds are spacious and peaceful. Since it is on a hillside
plot there is a fair amount of climbing so not for people who don't like or are not comfortable using stairs.
Still have not mastered photo sharing since I have no photo account. Look up their website for images.
