Los Cabos weather today

pacsur - 8-24-2014 at 05:32 AM

About 6:20am it went from no wind and silent to about 20-25mph in seconds, now heavy rain, hoping it last for awhile.

bajajudy - 8-24-2014 at 06:31 AM

We have no wind and light rain.

I was just reading that Marie skipped over Cat3. Went from 2 to 4 during the night.

7:40. Wind just kicked up. Thunder.

Just back from the beach
High surf.
Parking lot by fishing palapas funneling the high tide into the marina.
Cruisers beating it back into the marina.

We love straight down rain
Happy plants!

shari - 8-24-2014 at 12:09 PM

lucky you Judy....it has been in the 90's here all week in Asuncion which is super rare and terrifying to me! Hardly anyone has air conditioning so lots of suffering and with the ocean temps now over 80, ocean swims dont even cool me off...dang it.

bajajudy - 8-24-2014 at 02:37 PM

Oh boy!
We have a gully washer happening right now
Still straight down, no wind

Weird but this is one of the nicest August days that I can remember.
Off and on showers, temps in the mid70's, plants and birds happy.
Already started weeding.

So far..thank you Mighty Marie(not my name. The NHC called her that this morning)
I hope that everyone else's experience will be as pleasant.

BTW Huge surf

Bajaojosazul - 8-24-2014 at 09:05 PM

Any pics available of the surf? My brother and nephew are surfers and are salivating at the wave reports. :tumble:

I have no idea.
I have not left my neighborhood yet.
When the rain moves through so quickly, the chance of flooding is small.

bajajudy - 8-25-2014 at 10:50 AM

Just found these
They are from San Jose and Puerto Los Cabos

.
....Marie is looking to Baja like 'perfect storm' in a GOOD way!.....should be lots of moisture for Baja,,but -just- far enough offshore that the wind levels are allright.

...can't say it'll be so perfect for boats offshore,,an old Russian in a 24' sailboat in particular :wow:

.

Thanks for the link Bajajudy. Some great after pics. When we have been down there during storms, we usually have our kids so we don't venture out too far. Just stay inside, hoping the ceiling and sliders do not leak too much and most of the critters stay outside.

This webcam will give you an idea of what the Buenavista/Los Barriles is like.
