Over three days it got really gnarly - a very smart trout lived in a very small spot and the only way he would strike the fly was if the first cast
was perfectly placed in the perfect spot. If not, then you would put him down for at least an hour. I am a poor caster, coming late to the sport, and
I would guess that in three days I tried maybe 40 casts to this fish, only 6 were good enough the first time to get a strike and if the hook was not
set at once he would spit it out. The final score was 4 to 2, his favor. This little stretch of Bear Creek out of Evergreen, CO is barbless flies
only.
Here I am, in what SWMBO says is the silliest outfit she's ever seen me in. You can get so intense staring at the spot you know he will be that the
slightest swirl will make you set the hook on air. woody with a view - 9-6-2014 at 05:15 PM

Oh Golly. Didn't know that about you.
If you have not read it already (bad, bad, fly-fisherperson) get "The River Why". Forget the author's name. It's probably 20 years old now and every
page is you. It also is one of the funniest books I have ever read and re-read every couple of years just to get my head back in order.
GOOD READING, you'll love it.

Actually I think those are 'shorty' boots.
In fresh water though they should be white.bajajudy - 9-6-2014 at 06:16 PM
I have some lovely pink waders.
He does seem to like pastels!Paula - 9-6-2014 at 06:17 PM
It appears he is wearing blue socks under the black boots. They match his shorts. He's a sharp-dressed Man!vandenberg - 9-6-2014 at 06:22 PM
Reading the headline I thought he had sewage problems.bajagrouper - 9-6-2014 at 07:16 PM

It is amazing that no matter how much you empty your bladder, 20 minutes after getting your waders on you have to go again. Anybody
out there pee in your waders because you were in the midst of a good hatch?
Not me, never....Santiago - 9-7-2014 at 08:07 AM

Someone seriously needs to show this to Fishing Rich. He once accused me of wearing the entire LL Bean catalog.
Wading boots, neoprene booties are Cabelas; sox are REI Outlet woolies; shirt is repurposed from Goodwill; shorts from Sierra Outpost; whitey tighties
from Target.woody with a view - 9-7-2014 at 08:42 AM
