internet4baja - 7-5-2014 at 04:16 PM

If you need fast speed internet give a call 6461360495
up to 12 megas of speed

larryC - 7-5-2014 at 04:32 PM

Who doesn't. What does it cost and where in Baja is it available?

vgabndo - 7-5-2014 at 05:24 PM

Starts at $40. then start adding all the taxes and monthly add-ons. $200.00 equipment cost, or it's a monthly add to your bill. Two year contract. It's a dish. http://www.exede.com/documents/master/exede-disclaimer.pdf

The fine print says that all advertised speeds are "up-to" speeds, so ZERO to 12 Megs is their offer. Anywhere in between by contract.

internet4baja - 7-5-2014 at 06:13 PM

We have satélite internet that Will work ante where in México

Bob and Susan - 7-5-2014 at 06:37 PM

could you give us some references of people in Baja that use your internet system...

http://www.satbeams.com/footprints?beam=6607

it looks lile the spot beams don't cover baja

internet4baja - 7-5-2014 at 06:46 PM

Well ii Need to know where in baja are you loceted
In mulege we have installed antenas and there workin
Just fine we have over 10 years ir expiriance and are locales in ensenada
Ramírez Mendes 1010 fracc. Bahía

Desertbull - 7-5-2014 at 09:04 PM

Big difference between Mulege and Ensenada...let alone all the other places in between...antennas don't work where I go:lol: ... pretty hard to believe ... I've done mobile SAT all over the peninsula on a rig mounted on my trucks and it's still the only affordable option that actually works! We all want some more portable so bring it ...but it really has to work in remote locations .... Bring IT!

internet4baja - 7-5-2014 at 09:27 PM

From Sn Vicente and south if baja the only
Good internet availeve is hueghs 1100 and 700
From Erendida and north of the baja the only good internet
Is excede and right Now its súper fast were getting from
12 mps to 20 mps of speed we install Both excede and hueghs

willyAirstream - 7-6-2014 at 06:34 AM

Lag time? Say for internet phone or netflix.
Is the dish portable? Size?

Pescador - 7-6-2014 at 07:43 AM

So, Mulege gets only Hughes Net. Excede must be a northern Baja service.

internet4baja - 7-6-2014 at 08:54 AM

yes i recomend to all northern baja nomads to get exede to start off
your internet speed its garanted 12 mps and you might get more
and from 12pm to 5 am its free unlimited streaming the cheapes plan gives you 10 gigas it starts from 50 bucks a month with exede you can actually hook upyour camaras and watch real time feedback from your phone or monitor also you can hook up majic jack or vonegh and pay 25 dls a year and hav unlimited phone acess to united stated and canada exede its buy far the best thing out in the market if your interested email me and ill give u instalation price

schwlind - 7-6-2014 at 12:30 PM

Our house is located on the ocean at San Antonio Del Mar (a little north of Colonet inland). We have tried 4 or 5 times to get the Exede system going, to no avail. Seems it is finally operational in Erindera, but nothing south of that in Baja Norte that I'm aware of. I was truly excited about Exede, so much so I had my Starband service disconnected. As of the most recent information I have received from our guy it may be months if not longer before service is remotely possible. I now have to have my service guy come back down to hopefully restore my Starband service.

internet4baja - 7-6-2014 at 05:37 PM

If you live northern baja from san quintin and Up we can run
Test to see if the res a chance Exede works in your town

...a better approach might be to first ensure a town is ON for your grid,,,and -then- recruit customers,,,a bit more expense to begin with,,but I'd bet it'd turn around -fast- if you've got any of the capabilities you say! ;D

internet4baja - 7-6-2014 at 08:11 PM

well exede only works from erendida and al the way north of the baja thats our grid but we found a really nice trick to the system to get signal from san quintin and all the northen area thats why i put from san quintin and up we hav to run systems test and there a chance we can get signal so that our best aproch and the person that is interested will run the system test and if there lucky they will hav exede so far we have one lucky client in san vicente and that town is not in our grid sense its a new system for mexico theres a bit of tricks to learn but i do ensure its faster and cheaper then what is out in the market now 12 mps garanted

schwlind - 7-8-2014 at 11:52 PM

Well I have decided to be the guinea pig... I am really hoping it works. Will report back to everyone when I know.

We have several families in our immediate area that would sign up if it works!

Linda

Read the fine print on their 'fair usage policy', I thought I saw a 10GB monthly limit. Severe limiting follows going over that amount on other services. If you pool a few users on one modem that amount will be used up muy rapido.

...if there's a 10G limit,,,don't watch many,any streamed video's as a sole user....if a group,it'd be download emails -only-

internet4baja - 7-9-2014 at 09:45 AM

well 10 gigas its just a plan if you want more gigas theres more plans and if u stay with the 10 giga plan and you drain it you can swith to a 15 giga 0 25 giga and theres a 40 giga plan also if u ever run out before the month u can buy more gigas thats the lease of the problem and with a 12 mps garanted speed whos not going to want it lol the problem its getting signal sense we have our grid only workin from erendida and north

BajaRat - 7-9-2014 at 12:12 PM

They say we can get Exede here on our ranchito in Az but not in BCS ?
Anyone know of a provider that covers both ?
TNX

schwlind - 7-17-2014 at 11:05 PM

The poster here that began this thread will be coming to my house next week in San Antonio del Mar (near Colonet) to see if a signal can be established. I'll report back as to their success.

[Edited on 7-18-2014 by schwlind]

BCSTech - 7-29-2014 at 09:39 PM

OK, I'll be very interested in knowing if Exede works that far south, or anywhere south of Ensenada.

But I have to call BS on some of this for the benefit of other readers who may not know better because internet4baja is making statements that either need a lot more explanation or are simply untrue:

Quote:
We have satélite internet that Will work ante where in México
If you're claiming you have satellite Internet service that will work anywhere in Mexico, then you're not talking about Exede.
Quote:
From Sn Vicente and south if baja the only Good internet availeve is hueghs 1100 and 700 From Erendida and north of the baja the only good internet
What? This makes no sense. HughesNet 1100 (Gen4) systems will not work much further south than Ensenada, if you can find someone to install one there. And it's HughesNet 7000 Ku service you may be referring to, not "700."
Quote:
your internet speed its garanted 12 mps
That is not true. No satellite Internet provider "guarantees" you'll get their stated maximum speed. Read the first paragraph of the Exede Disclaimer Document that Vgabndo posted: "Speeds are "up to", are not guaranteed, and will vary."
Quote:
In mulege we have installed antenas and there workin
What kind of "antenas" are workin' in Mulege? Certainly not Exede.

Exede 12Mbps service uses spot beams that are tightly targeted on the US, as does HughesNet Gen4 service. Only Exede's U72 beam over San Diego has any chance of reaching into Baja and certainly not anywhere south of Cataviña at it's extreme weakest. Definitely not into Mulege.

I should add that some fellas out of San Diego were installing HughesNet Gen4 south of the border down to Ensenada. All Gen4 and Exede systems must be calibrated by their GPS position, and that GPS information is recorded and available to the service provider, regardless of the US physical account address used to register the account. Once HughesNet became aware of these North Baja installs, they told the dealer to cease and desist.

I get the strong impression you're basically a sales person and not a technician, and you're mixing up a lot of terms you've heard from your installer. That said, more power to anyone who can get that service to work outside of the US. If you really can, I may have work for you. But, from what you've written so far, I'm not convinced.

Maybe you should disclose in what areas of Baja you can actually install and receive Exede and Directv?

larryC - 9-7-2014 at 08:16 AM

We can get HD Directv here in Bola but we have to use the 1.2 meter Alaska/Hawaii dish. Very much farther south and I would imagine it would get sketchy. If you are up north of here then it would be doable and the price is good.

You're limiting it to the "first five customers"...? Hokay...

That isn't what you wrote seven months ago. There are 100s of HughesNet systems all over Mulege, nothing new there. You started this post by promoting Exede and made it sound like it would work anywhere in Baja.

Why do I question your credibility? Because of your car salesman-like over-generalizations and over-promises, including this post:

http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=77286

If, after all this, you still think that Exede might work in Mulege then you are, at best, full of feathers. Or, at worst, you are deliberately misleading people to make a sale.

You may have fell into this recently, and I can overlook some of your newbie misinformation and enthusiasm. But this has been my business for 30 years. I'm a certified installer for both Exede and HughesNet, I've installed hundreds of residential and commercial satellite Internet and TV systems all over Baja and I don't like to see fellow Nomads being misled.

[Edited on 1-20-2015 by BCSTech]

cool im glad your sertified and have 30 years in the business when i grow up i wanna be just like you but for now i would like your help lets not miss lead nobody and keep it facts hows that sound as off now i can only offer exede 12mbps to baja california norte anywere donts matter were in baja north
and when im done with baja california norte ill start doing test in baja california sur right now i think im like 40% sure of signal in mulege maybe ill work hard at it for another 6 months and when i get it ill post back to you Big Alan so you

I wonder what is going to happen when DirecTV starts putting GPS devices into their systems. I know there has been talk for quite a while of them including the technology to this.

Russ - 1-20-2015 at 08:28 AM

As you gain notoriety and Exede becomes a proven alternative in the south I'm sure you'll have a lot of new customers that now rely on Hughes. Technology is changing really fast so I expect service areas to improve and be more reliable in the near future. We'll see....

ncampion - 1-20-2015 at 09:51 AM

When (if ever) do you think you will have service as far as Loreto??? There are lots of people here who are dissatisfied with the TelMex DSL.

internet4baja - 1-20-2015 at 10:21 AM

thanks norte is good to get positive post i was getting cyber bulling lol
well keep at it

and about the gps i think they wont do it there so much directv accounts paying money down in mexico there interest at the end of the day is getting monthly payments

internet4baja - 1-20-2015 at 10:31 AM

I don't mind competition. Without competition there would be no marketplace, and I have more work than I can handle.

What I do mind is someone/anyone, competitor or not, making uninformed claims for performance or coverage.

If anyone in BCS would like to be a guinea pig, please do order Exede from this guy and then let us know how it turns out.

BCSTech - 1-20-2015 at 11:15 AM

Alan, you install both hughesnet and exede. which one is the better deal?
Really depends on where you are. Both HughesNet Gen4 and Exede will work near the border.

The further you travel south, the less likely either will work because there is simply no signal coverage. The only thing we've found that works in BCS is the older HughesNet "Gen2" stuff (HN7000S Ku gear) and commercial V-Sat terminals. Starband Ku also works but they've been cutting back their service, and many users were forced to abandon it.

In the US, HughesNet Gen4 and Exede are on a rough parity and cover the same regions with some exceptions. In our area in Northern California, we have Gen4 available up to 15 Mbps but Exede only up to 5 Mbps. For that reason, we mainly sell and install Gen4 here.

Both services have their detractors but complaints seem to be mainly around performance expectations being set too high and/or poor install work hampering the system.

I actually tested from iPhone - Verizon microcell - excede - landline so I was making it jump thru some hoops. I was reasonable impressed.

My neighbor uses excede with netflix which is killing him. His bill is close to $500 a month. The data caps are just to low for the amount of money. There is talk about their new Freedom Data plan being available (San Diego) in the next couple of months that will have unlimited data.

I doubt there is away (at least reasonable straight forward) with all the DRM issues. I can probably think of some elaborate hacks to do it but really not worth it for the non techy person and it would violate your EULA. :)

Probably just easier to change your TV watching habits to Midnight to 5am .

Bob and Susan - 1-20-2015 at 01:44 PM

i think some of you are confused between sat internet and sat tv

the ONLY sat internet that works in mulege is a 7000s modem

hughes is slow...don't believe fast download comercials...its slow

bcstech assisted us this summer when we fried a modem...his knowledge stopped me from a drive to northern California...I was packed and ready to go

gen4 doesn't work in mulege
neither does exceed

all sat internet services has a "free download period" in the night...but the speed of the download is limited to the speed they allow the data to travel thru the server on the ground
it's slow...did I say that

if you exceed download amount (ex: videos) you get "FAPed" and the internet really slows
that time is advertised as 24hours but is actually 30hours as they count the 6 free hours in the night as FREE

as soon as you can "hook-up" to cable or fios...DO IT!!!

I suggest anybody looking into this type of internet to go to the one of the forums for these dish type internet services. People there have measured speed tests posted during the 30 day trial period and then after 30 days where your speeds can be cut "up to" 90%. Be scared, very scared.

Pretty much the same story, whether you're talking about Exede, HughesNet, Dish, DIRECTV, or Shaw Direct. None of them will knowingly set you up with US-based service if they know you're in Mexico.

However...

I did have one client who called Dish and got his service activated in BCS after giving the sales agent his address in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico. The sales agent (probably sitting in a cube farm somewhere in the Phillipines) thought the client must have meant "San Jose, New Mexico." He even helped him further by looking up the correct 87565 ZIP code for him to complete the order :D

If only it was that simple...

I guess us poor folks living around Mulege just have to keep using smoke signals or Hughes net when it works.

Exceede

J.P. - 3-7-2015 at 09:38 AM

We have a place in Rural East San Diego County where we have Exceed. We are very satisfied with the performance.
Having said that we rarely stay up there all month but when we do we push the basic plan that we have to near the limit.
That is the main complaint I hear from the people here in Baja that have it.

internet4baja - 3-8-2015 at 07:37 PM

Well thats up to you if you wanna keep using smoke signal or step into the future

were going to mulege to set up exede

were thinking maybe thursday of this week going it all depends on if we get some one that want to give it a try

vgabndo - 3-8-2015 at 08:28 PM

The plans and pricing page at Exede is for US zip codes only. Not a bit of help.
If I have to ask, it's too expensive????

take a good look before its to late

internet4baja - 3-9-2015 at 10:57 PM

well i think 60 dls a month is not expensive considering what your going to get
10 gigas per month, late night free zone, and very important internet speeds reaching 12 megas which gives you a relaible connection to the web also with this speed you can use skype at 100% of capacity make unlimited calls to the USA using magicjack or vonage and on top of that you get your own personal exede log in page and wifi and to sum it all up we can garantee you covarage something most exede dealer wont offer but like i sayed this covarage wont last long just till our beam reaches capacity then the system wont let us do no more activations

EnsenadaDr - 3-9-2015 at 11:15 PM

quickspeednet.com simply the best in Baja $35 USD monthly keeps you going 24 hours a day. $150 USD installation. Telnor can never compare and I have had both.

LOSARIPES - 3-10-2015 at 05:28 PM

What outfit actually exists and works in the La Paz area? Telmex's Infinitum really, really sucks...

exede 12 mbps

internet4baja - 3-10-2015 at 07:49 PM

yeah i think for la Paz there no option just telnor(telmex) or hughes

check us out exede.com masterpage
satelitedelnorte.com our own page
fast speed 12 megas if you find some one else offering 12 megas and deliviring on such speeds ill give you a exede set for free

Pescador - 3-11-2015 at 07:05 AM

When people refer to Baja it could be anywhere from Tijuana to Cabos and the stuff that works down to Ensenada means very little to those who live south of Guerrero Negro.

Infinitum is so over sold as to be ridiculous and it gets to the point where you have almost no internet service after 9 or 10 in the morning. Of course some days you have it all day. Of course, customer service in DF is always so glad to talk to you about it.

get rid of it

internet4baja - 3-11-2015 at 07:15 PM

yeah i know telnor over sells there service why dont you give a exede a chance were sure if your from mulegue and northen areas theres covarage im just finishing some jobs here in ensenada some directv set ups and im done im planing on going once im done here in ensenada.

but you dont have to wait to get fast internet

internet4baja - 3-11-2015 at 07:32 PM

i might finish this week in ensenada but my partner is in bahia de los angeles and has only 2 exedes left if your close to the area let us know we can set you up with fast speed internet 12 mbps but not only that we can give you a relaible service

I spend the winter in Mulege, just got back, and I access the Internet at the Internet place near Saul's market.

It works great. I assume it's DSL. No phone lines in the orchard?

mulegemichael - 3-12-2015 at 11:42 AM

since when did infinitum stop working in mulege??...we run two computers off of it in the oasis just south of town; no problems..ever...oh, i take that back...doesn't really work that well after we've had 8 feet of water or so in our living room.

Just so I'm clear, your saying that with only 7 feet of water I can expect to still have internet? I'm only 6'4" so I would plan on a step stool and raised desktop. Just want to confirm. :saint::biggrin:

There are phone lines in the Orchard,, we have used Telmex Infintium for 5 years, usually stream tv from the states, work on computer or 2 and use majicjack at the same time but this year after Odile, the quality does not seem to be as good,, also oversold capablity from what sources say...
just looking at the alternatives...

Bob and Susan - 3-13-2015 at 10:39 AM

ok the exceed is in mulege here at playa frambes on the bay...

in 15 minutes we see if it works and is faster

Bob and Susan - 3-13-2015 at 11:28 AM

the exceed is working here on the bay in mulege...and...
its 3 times faster than hughesnet

we'll run hughes and exceed side by side for awhile

this is the new internet...

i'm in...if you want better internet you should contact these people

chavycha - 3-13-2015 at 11:37 AM

Good to know. Wonder if they will offer that on the Pacific side someday. Asuncion and the rest of the coast are wonderful places, but the Infinitum 'DSL' connections are a joke. I think I got better actual throughput in 1995 with my 2400bps modem.

internet4baja - 3-13-2015 at 01:38 PM

Were actually setting up bob and susan if you want to see exede high speed at

Bob and Susan - 3-13-2015 at 02:00 PM

thank you bob and susan for giving us a chance we wont let you down

chavycha - 3-13-2015 at 02:37 PM

Very interesting. We don't have a place in Asuncion (yet) but I will certainly keep my eye on the Exede service. Anything has to be better than the Inifinitum there. A few questions which I (and others) might ask prior to signing up:

What are the approximate equipment and installation costs? Is there a contract required, and if so, for what duration? Is the service specific to one address or could you move the equipment in the summer to north of the border?

internet4baja - 3-13-2015 at 03:06 PM

Yes the equipment cost 440 dls and 210 dls for install a total of 650 dls

there a 2 year contract but it does not apply for mexico so if we set it up here in mexico you can cancel any time

and yes you can take it north of the boarder or in some cases buy 2 antenas one for mexico and one for usa and just take your modem

chavycha - 3-13-2015 at 03:21 PM

Thank you for the prompt answers! I think that will appeal to lots of people.

internet4baja - 3-13-2015 at 03:44 PM

yes right now our only obstacle is getting the people to belive in this product beacuase they say exede dosnt work any were south of erendida

but ill explain why were able to get it to work is beacuse our company satelite del norte rented out a space on a satellite and were beaming from there

so its just a matter of time the only problem is that we only were able to rent out 300 account after that were not going to offer exede

but what we can say is this

if anybody want to switch to high speed internet reach out now before its to late

6461360495 or email hamit_parral@hotmail.com

Bob and Susan - 3-13-2015 at 04:12 PM

hell yea it works!!

really fast too

finally something that works

we'll have to careful we don't "exceed" the download limit watching or downloading videos

this is the new service...hughes has degraded to a snails pace

Mula - 3-13-2015 at 04:25 PM

deleted.

Internet Service cost?

Fastbird - 3-13-2015 at 04:26 PM

What is the cost for say 3Mbs down/up with unlimited use??

Bob and Susan - 3-13-2015 at 04:58 PM

here is the site...
http://www.exede.com/what-is-exede

in chivato this is the service

I hope russ sees this

there is a difference if you get a Mexican activation with these people
instead of getting a USA account...this might be better for Baja

the download amount is about what hughesnet gives you

hughes gives you about 300megs a day
we never exceed this amount or we get FAP'd and that sucks

this service gives a monthly amount...
example is: 300x30=900 you get 1200
you can run out before the end of the month if you use too much
(movies)
but you can buy more if you need to...but the price is cheaper so you can afford to do that

the download speed is a lot faster...some web pages that wouldn't come up easily pop right up

plans available

internet4baja - 3-13-2015 at 05:00 PM

10 gigas of data for 60 dls a month and 12 midnight to 5 am free zone

15 gigas of data for 90 dls a month and 12 midnight to 5 am free zone

25 gigas of data for 140 dls a month and 12 midnight to 5 am free zone

speed from 12 mbps to 20 mbps(depending on your signal)
if you buy a travel pak before activating your service
after you run out of data your speed reduces to 1 mbps to 5 mbps
our you can always buy more data for 10 dls a giga

to activate your service you need a debit card or credit card
