Puertecitos,Gonzaga Bay, Bahia Lo Angeles; power and gasoline?

AKgringo - 9-20-2014 at 06:07 PM

Can anyone tell me if the few communities on the east side are able to pump gas and sell food and water? Any flood damage that is worse than a good 4x4 can handle?
Thanks for any info, Gary

Thanks for responding! I did find that thread, unfortunately Odile wasn't done with that area when it was posted.

AKgringo: it is always a good idea to carry your own food and water when traveling along the peninsula.

BOLA thread started before the Odile, and is being updated every day.

Thanks for the nudge to look further, I found much more info! I am not only a newbie to this site, I have never posted a thread anywhere before, so I am on the slow end of the learning curve.
I am not a newbie to Baja though, I have been driving there off and on since 1986 with back roads and off road being a large part of the trip.
I travel pretty well equipped, but I always refresh my supplies whenever possible, especially gas and water! Based on what I am reading, I will carry as much as I can. If I don't need it, someone else will.
Thanks again, Gary

AK, another experienced off roader, TW, drove this past Thursday and Friday south from San Felipe to Highway 1 via Gonzaga and Coco's. He will post a detailed trip probably tomorrow, Sunday. He reported to me that from the end of the pavement south of Gonzaga the road is passable without 4x4 but it is considerably slower due to lots more rocks. Wait for his report then see if you need more info. John M
