I have a good friend who e-mailed me this morning and suggested it is a real challenge to look at the pics. In his mind the photographer is always going to take a pic of the most destruction or damage because that is what draws the attention. He may be right, I don't know, but for those of us who live here full time, our attention is drawn to the damage and destruction at first, but on the second day we don't really see much of that and kind of focus on the positive things going on. It was a bad storm, no doubt about that, but I lived through Jimena and this one, and the destruction was simply not as bad. People are working, cleanup is happening, and things are slowly returning to normal and it is less than a week.

Jim, I guess it's all relevant to where you were during the storm. Most I spoke with said they thought this storm had more water in a shorter timeframe.

George at San Lucas said he now has a new arroyo and more damage than Jimena- My house is jacked way more now then during Jimena or John but some came thru Odile with very minor damage.. very random..

Here are some non-disaster pics for your buddy from the trip.

But please don't go down unless your are bringing supplies and are self sufficient, the resources are slim right now.

People are working hard to repair the roads and get trucks running.

It's very green......

You are right in one way, but if everyone is taking pics of the worst spots, you soon see the improvement done by the cleanup and repair.

Thank you for the update photos.

That's one lucky little sailboat tied off to the remnants of the dock.

That's great, but maybe better in the Bahia de los Angeles thread, instead of the Santa Rosalia thread? Different state, hundreds of miles apart...

chuckie - 9-22-2014 at 11:25 AM

Geez...

David,
While you are at it, could you start pointing out spelling errors too?

Well, if you want... notice I spelled it correctly, but left out the accent... here it is correctly: Santa Rosalía

David K is the master of posting trivia and nitpicking....Maybe he needs to come to Baja once in a while, not in a helicopter? Nah, that would be too much too ask...pompous jerk.....Uses Nomads as an advertising platform...

Do you think attack posts like yours is not being jerk-like?? Nice to hear I am a master, and not a slave. Best ideas to me are to share Baja to help people who read this forum to enjoy it more and that helps the people of Baja prosper better. Is that advertising, when it's a FREE service???

Come to Baja? I would love to more! I drove to Baja 3 weeks ago for a camping trip, how in the world did you miss my photos of it??? LOL

Anyway chuckie, come on over and have a cold Pacifico or Dos Equis and relax a little.

That went downhill fast.
