I did read a couple days back of some sort of eviction, is this
for the houses a little east of the Blowhole?
The translation I got was a little confusing

The police are trying to remove most of the commercial venders in La Bufadadora, not houses.

.
....whaaa!!?....what would La Bufadadora be without that gauntlet of vendors!?:o:(

The police are enforcing a court order from a judge that returns the property the vendors are located on back to the Ejido.

Apparently the vendors are "squatters" on Ejido land. News this morning on ensenada.net reports the squatters have hired field workers to bolster their ranks and obstruct the removal order, and are using women and children in the front ranks of the protest.

...is the goal to remove all vendors??

La Bufadora is a magnificent natural wonder....I always felt that area could be much more beautiful without so many vendors.

...yeh....and I think the same of Cabo! :)

bajaguy - 9-23-2014 at 09:40 AM

"Apparently" someone has been collecting rent from the vendors and either not paying the Ejido or not paying the Ejido the full amount.

I would think that if the eviction is successful, the Ejido would rent space to back to the same vendors who would pay the Ejido directly.

In an ensenada.ner article last week, it was reported that Carnival Cruise Lines have scratched the La Bufadora tours for the next 10 cruise ships due to the situation

Any tourist spot in Mexico without vendors would be like kissin' yer sister; just not the same. :smug:
