Alaska suspended flights for passengers flying to Loreto until Friday, Sept. 26. Aereo Calafia is still flying to Loreto from Tijuana. We had no
trouble getting on the Sunday flight to Loreto. It was super easy to get the train to San Diego, take the Blue Line trolly to the border, walk across

Rumours and inaccurate info is so hard to reverse and so dang frustrating.
We have a commercial account and have been advised there are no NEW reservations being taken at this time, until (1) they assess how many people
cancel reservations on their own and (2) ALL TERMINALS in CSL at SJD International Airport are needing to be rebuilt completely, but will not be done
all at one time, therefore there will be a complete reschedule created for all the airlines and flights that will be allowed in after the airport
officially reopens, which is still, as of yesterday, scheduled for Sept 27th. This will require all airlines working together with the FEDS to create
a working schedule.
As the region of Los Cabos recovers and rebuilds in the wake of Hurricane Odile, Alaska Airlines is temporarily suspending all flights to Los Cabos
(SJD). We are prepared to resume daily flights between Los Angeles and Los Cabos by as soon as the airport and infrastructure are repaired and can
accomodate commercial air service. Service between Los Cabos and Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Jose will resume first, and nonstop flights between
Los Cabos and Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco are planned to return shortly thereafter.

Other airlines appear to still be planning to fly in to SJD as long as they get the go-ahead. I have a feeling they will get the airport operational
before you know it.
For any "guests" out there, who are checking to see if there is any information on flights, I would suggest contacting your airline and speaking
directly with them. Information is going to be day-to-day for a while. The people of Baja are resilient and are already working to get life back to

Alternately, if you needed to get to Cabo while the airport is being worked on, you could still fly in to La Paz and drive/bus/shuttle your way on

Alaska reported earlier that all flights were suspended/canceled through to Nov 2 and that ticket holders lost their reservations and would have to
rebook when flights were announced, even if on the same day as canceled flights.
Alaska will fly when the airport is open and should honor the tickets they sold-and not cancel/resell the tickets to someone else.CaboMagic - 9-25-2014 at 05:09 PM
Just like most things, ask 6 different people the same question and you will likely hear 6 different answers.
There is a fair amount of politics involved in addition to all the repairs/replacement/rescheduling to get the SJD International Airport operational

Yep, I actually sat with friends and we called about 4-5 times and checked. Finally, a nice woman at alaska said, if you have a ticket and we fly that
day, then we of course we honor your ticket.
Alaska has had some confusing messaging but it is understandable, their first response was let's cancel everything and start over, but now they
realize that doesn't respect customers with tickets.
I predict the airport will open in a grand way on Oct 8th and alaska among others will fly normal routes-and we will al live happily ever after in
Baja!

No flights mean no visitors no money to pay for rebuild
Many people are not tourists, have homes and work to return to work
No info means no ability to plan

The problem is filling seats, a large number of people buy vacation packages, air hotel transfers all in one go. These vacation packagers fill the
airlines seats.
There is a good chance many of these people knowing of the hurricane will choose an alternative resort and buy the packages for Cancun Or PV among
others.
Also the tour agents who sell the packages have an obligation to disclose and given that a number of hotels will not be opening until mid to late

Delta and United are flying from Oct 8th on when the airport opens, as well as many other airlines, most are booked full.
Alaska has sold tickets previously but Alaska has suspended flights and won't confirm flights again until Nov 2nd, so customers are stranded.
