Flying into La Paz from East Coast

Mika - 9-24-2014 at 04:03 PM

Hi,

I would like to get advice on flying into La Paz from US East coast.
Normally, I use Los Cabos airport, but I think the full service begins 11/25, and my plan is to get there early November.

All the flight originating my area (North east) is via DF, so I am thinking my best option is to fly into San Diego, walk across to Tijuana and fly on Volaris or something. I need to purchase separate tickets and am wondering if any one has done this before and how easy it is. Or is it too much hassle and I should stick to flying via DF? I won't have much luggage, and am used to the process of crossing the border but I have never been to Tijuana airport.

Thank you for any input!

Instead of going through DC have you looked into going through Guadalajara and from there to La Paz??

I found a flight from New York for $ 635.00 R/T

I fly from TJ to la Paz once a month, I live in north county SD and am parked near border, walk in to TJ take a taxi and checked in at volaris in one hour! It's super easy.you can also grab the Volaris bus from DT San Diego to TJ not sure if they bring you to airport, I always drive myself. East breezy

If you fly to San Diego, Volaris has a shuttle that goes from the SD airport and the SD Amtrak station to the Tijuana airport. It stops at the border, you walk across, they pick you up on the other side. Navigating the TIJ airport is a piece if cake!

Check it out on the Volaris website. Also...AereoCalafia flies TIJ to La Paz with a stop in Loreto. Very inexpensive.
